ridiculous fee? Then he is like saying no to Verratti's transfer and will likely have an impact on the player's performance next season. Verratti's spot in the national team for the WC is almost guaranteed regardless of how bad he plays next season. Only PSG will lose buying an adequate replacement for a player who doesn't want to stay and that might risk club's league and UCL challenge.

It is now or never really, since the speculation and Verratti's wish to leave have never been so strong as they are this summer. Add to that the whole 'win CL project' by PSG has never been more far away, with the main players/stars reaching their 30s, while the younger players (except Verratti and maybe Draxler) just aren't good enough. As for Marco, he's 25 now, so not a kid anymore. He's just the right age to make the leap and start starring in Barca's midfield week in week out. Just ask Xavi. In 2-3 years it becomes pointless to splash out 100 mil on him, by then he would be 'another Thiago Silva waiting to happen'.
Really hope we get him, otherwise i'm not expecting much from this season, which would be another disaster (another best year of Messi wasted). Time to get real, get in there with a 90-100 mil offer, publicly state that we want him and thus give Verratti the final push he needs to force his way out. And do this in the next 2-3 weeks, cause i'd really hate if by the time the pre-season ends, or the Super Cup or even La Liga gets here, we'd still be without him, while our Board would keep on sitting on their ass saying how Verratti needs to damage all the relationship he's made with PSG, before we even make a move or at least publicly admit we want him.
Cause my inclination to vomit activates the moment i think about watching a Rakitić-Gomes as the main CM pair this season too. And don't get me wrong, i think Raki could still flourish (maybe even more so in an attacking role, which he never really got a chance to play in Barca) if he had two of the best controller/cover midfielders behind him in Verratti and Busquets.
However, if we don't get him, i really hope Sergi Roberto gets his chance to play in the starting lineup...at least one player in our midfield i look forward to watching. And that he will be the one Valverde will be forcing into our midfield week in week out, not freaking Gomes.
