The way I saw it, he was the most threatening player in the 1st half with good passes, dribbles and attempts. Sure he didn't score but it wasn't for lack of trying or motivation. I might give it another look but he didn't appear lazy to me.

I kind of felt he was more so sloppy than lazy, even though it might be a mixture of both

My exact ideas since it was an unpopular opinion here .. But it's not going to happen apparently . Therefore i see an alternative, Moving Messi to the false nine position and make him the furthest player in the picth. That's the only way to contain the damage he's causing the team defensivley and still having him in the starting eleven because we all know what he's capable of.. He might score a triple out of 5 touches from the whole game. This decision means finding a solution for Suarez, and if means benching Suarez (difficult games) then be it. Or we can do what Mourinho did with eto'o or Benitez with Kurt, which is moving Suarez to RW position.

I've thought of that, if he does not feel like doing what these two formations require to balance than sooner or later we will have to get back to playing Messi as a false nine. Now, we will either have to:

1) Sell Suarez.

2) Bench Suarez.

3) Convert Suarez to RW.

But, you have to wonder does playing Suarez as RW suits our system. Do we risk upsetting Messi by selling Suarez who has a strong bond with him. I think we totally need a WC RB and RW next season because our system is broken.

Tough, very tough situation.

That video is not impressive and misses out the worst moments.

The fact it is 3mins long and has some of the poorer moments on it says everything.

Or play 352, which was actually the formation against psg. Messi RF, Suarez LF. The new Torres and Villa.

Messi is playing in the middle, far from goal. He is better closer to it.

It was 3-4-3 vs PSG the same as the other games and 4-4-2 when defending.

Okay, with all due respect, did you think Messi had a good game against PSG?

I dont think he did, much like today he was marked with three players which left a huge space on both wings. Difference is, Neymar benefited from the space and punished PSG, unlike today.

Its crazy, stats aren't everything but he's averaging around a goal a game this season and has scored several goals in crucial times, without that barça would have been out of the title race a long time ago.
This constatn overreaction, not just here but look at Neymar's thread the last couple of months, is pathetic.
Amen

IMHO people are blinded by Messi's decisive genius and whenever he just plays an average game, they start criticizing him much more than it is necessary.
Messi did NOT have a bad game against PSG, he made up 1 1/2 goals but whenever he is not an "alien" people start this BS.

His shots, free-kicks sometimes avoid going in, his dribbles are sometimes unsuccessful, his clever balls are intercepted, that's the nature of this game, but a good team is a good team if at certain games others take his shiny role, just as Neymar did recently.
Neither at the PSG game nor today Messi wasn't worse than many other team members. He was decisive enough at many games this season to merit the "right" not to be his best each and every game...

Messi against PSG had a decent game, he helped us in the second half by dropping deep, today, he had a bad game, not one good thing.
