Barca Transfers and Rumors

Jesus Christ he has not replaced Cancelo. Cancelo was moved forward because they were totally slow and inefective in the attack! When they played against us he actually destroyed Digne. Did you ever watch Cancelo? Have you watched him playing for Portugal? Ever!? You can't even compare Cancelo and Montoya. One of them has true potential and another will never be good.

Have you ever watched Srna? I respect him a lot. He was one of the bes RB's in the world when he was at his prime. In his early ages when playing for Hajduk and national team he was more RM and RW than RB. He had something Cancelo has today. He had speed, stamina, pace, good cross and he could make overlaping attacking runs. He leared how to defent at Shakhtar. I do not see why Cancelo could not learn that as well.

That was a reason but defense was another reason, they wouldn't have sacrificed his attacking attributes as FB if it wasn't for his lack of defense.
And again the whole making a player learn is too risky and can go both ways.
We made Mascherano learn CB position and Pep thought he can do the same with Busquets and it was ugly, then Tito decided he can do it with Song and was even worse.
Same for RB,tried to make both Vidal & S.Roberto as RB and worked for one not the other.
Thing is both Mascherano & Roberto was already in the team when we changed their positions but with Vidal & Song we basically poured money down the drain.
It is just too risky tbh,we need to take less of those risks tbh because this team is always filled with some dead weights because of it.

we poured money down the drain with Vermaelen, Hleb, Douglas, Keirrison, Chygrynskiy, Paco and countless others as well. While Yaya and Deco were attacking mids who were successfully converted to new positions at Barca.

But it is normal for us to have a constant stream of incoming garbage ready to be loaned out until the end of their contracts.

The funny thing is that people advocated for the "safe options of La Liga proven players" like Paco, Gomes, Arda, Vidal etc. If we continue to buy mediocrity, we will struggle greatly once Messi and Suarez decline.

After Paco,
Now we need to change your mind on Cancelo

His poor defence pulls him completely out of RB options

No you do not have to change my mind regarding Cancelo. I never said he is a complete player, I said that I think he has a good potential. I am not saying he should be our only target or that he is perfect. I also don't think buying a 34 year old player will do us any good I would rather risk with younger one.

In the end Cancelo or no Cancelo lets buy someone who can be good for us and who can cover RB position in next couple of years to come! If that player is Fabinho great! If that player is Bellerin great! But lets finally buy someone who can be really good for us!

For me real mediocrity would be buying players who are practicaly in the end of their careers and expecting from them to solve our problems. Noone can say that giving 18 months contract to 34,5 years old Srna or 33 years old Lichtsteiner is a real solution for our problems.

Ok lets say Cancelo is not a solution for us and we can not get Bellerin since he is to expensive, who would you buy then? Fabinho?

I am not sure if the rest of the post is a general statement or reply on my post, but regarding this part:
1-Deco was AM here with a little bit of more defensive duties which he also had too under Mou,we didn't convert him that much. It was more or less like Raki now.
2-Yaya played almost every position there in football b4 joining us IIRC,from CF to CB and he was a midfielder when he joined
3-huge difference between converting a player in same line and to a different line.
4-Vermaelen was injured and Zubi overruled the doctors,Hleb was a gr8 player who had personal issues that fucked him over when he joined and probably under normal circumstances he might have had a good career here,we will never know. But such a risk is taken with every possible signing. personal issues can fuck players career like it can do to any of us.
5-Douglas, Keirrison, Chygrynskiy were never safe options.two of them people think they are money laundry btw,and they are the type of unknown/not safe you keep arguing we should go for.at the end of the day no matter what is your approach you will have to execute it right. we failed with some and succeeded with the other.
As for Cancelo simple as it is we failed to sign players who play at different line with the idea we will convert them into defenders.
I am all for going after Cancelo if he went back to the RB position and proved he improved defensively but until then he has a lot of "Vidal" in him.

Deco replaced Davids while Yaya was an attacking mid played as a DM for us. And Masche was converted to CB with success as well no matter how much you claim it was all different. You are just coming up with new excuses to categorize all transfers of a certain type as a bad idea, whether its players from a certain nationality, country, league, position or something else.

Safe players? You defend all sorts of garbage we buy no matter what. You have passionately argued that Douglas and Keirrison were not money laundry, and now you suddenly change your tune?

Just because you dont know anything about a player doesnt mean it is a bad idea to sign them. You just lump anyone you dont know with players like Douglas and Chygrynskiy and think it is a rational argument. You were the one who argued for Paco right? A "pure number 9". "Safe" player from La Liga (right after we bought the "safe" players Arda Turan and Vidal). You argued passionately for Paco. As expected he's been dreadful. As an alternative you thought Mario Gomez would be good. He's been dreadful for Wolfsburg. The only player I've argued that we should sign that we actually signed was Samuel Umtiti and he's been our best transfer, no surprise there. If we also had bought Fabinho like I said, Gundogan and a LB that could play RB (like Ricardo Pereira or Sidibe) and a VERSATILE forward that would get playing time, we would be much better off than we are now.

Dude,if you are gonna come with ton of "you are the one who argued X & Y" then at least stop making false statements.
I am always on the wait & see regarding our transfers. And half of the players you mentioned I was against.
I never said that Douglas wasn't money laundry or reasonable buy,I was always furious about that deal and was clear something is wrong in it because we were after Caio and when he got injured we signed a teammate instead.
So get your act straight and don't personalize arguments with false statements as you usually do,and for change try to understand what the others are saying before making such replies ffs.

You are defending our garbage transfers time and time again. Always excuses ready for our board. Thats just a reality. Whenever someone suggest that we should not follow what our administration is doing, you claim that they know best. Other options are bad, the board knows best. Just go back and look at what you said about Paco. You were very positive about that transfer as well.

To be fair, Keirrison absolutely wasn't a laundering money signing. He was the hottest thing here in Brazil back then.

Everyone here genuinely believed in his potential, but unfortunately he disappointed everyone.

Douglas, on the other hand...

Anyone here following Kenny Tete from Ajax? I've read good things about him in the past and now I see that Sevilla is interested in him. If Monchi likes him that's probably a good sign.
