I found another article, about 1,5 year old, with an ex barca coach Julio Alberto, who said that Messi promised Vilanova he would stay for 2 years and will leave in the summer of 2016.

Messi would only leave Barca if he was somehow forced to flee Barcelona and there's currently no reason to think there's a causw for him to leave, the tax problem will eventually fade away.

Messi stayed this long with Barca, he's already 29 he wont leave imo.

Messi should threaten to leave to show the clowns on the Barca board how stupid they are not to help him in his tax case. do you think messi wanted that 21 month sentence? Barca did NOTHING to help, fucking clowns, even if it didn't make any difference, at least show some effort to help ffs. he's a troll, and if i had to bet, a madrid fan. there's absolutely nothing wrong with the latter, given that you don't parade around barca sigs and avatars and try to stir the pot in the messi/cristiano threads on a daily basis.
