10 years sounds too long in my opinion. With the way how football is evolving now,... risky.

I've said similar thing in "Barca shirt sponsorship" thread. But looking at other clubs, almost all of them are signing 10 years deals, Bayern even 15 years.

We should also be aware that we are very successfull now. What if in 2022 we are two or three years away from winning our last trophy. It would be very hard to negotiate a new good deal. I think that's one of the main reasons why clubs prefers longterm contracts. And manufactorers are also happy to be tied to a great club for 10 years.

Yes that's my point. 100M might be the biggest deal now but in 10 years it probably won't be even close. They should add a small % each year or something. Look at the transfers we did around 2006, 24M bought you Thierry Henry. Now they are asking 40 for Gameiro.

Look at my response in Barca shirt sponshorship thread. :)

How does this compare with the previous deal we had in place?

I believe we had 32 million Euro's a year from the previous deal. Huge step up going from 32 million to 100 million if the number is true. We could have gotten 120 million to be fair, since we have Nike's Neyboy.

If that's the case, then it really is a huge step up. Caught me by surprise too, because it seemed like the whole focus was on the shirt-sponsor following Qatar.

Anyways, really awesome news!

We are basically getting the new industry standard deal, nothing really exceptional about the money or the length of the contract, but given the fact that we are the only big team Nike has left, I think we should have been able to squeeze out another 5-10 million.

I have the feeling Madrid will get more from Adidas or some no name brand from Outa nowhere.

anyways now let's see if he will be able to get another industry startand, sponsor for the shirts and stadium.

Key point, none of this Qatar airways, having thier name on everything, I said it was a bad deal from that prospective when we signed the deal, a few years back and man U, showed exactly why a few years later.

Unless they are giving us 250m for everything. Stadium, home kit, training kit. Then it's a no go.

We also need to go ahead and sell the name to the masia as well, just go all in, since we have moved away from certain valves.

By the time this new set of negotiations are done, we should be a club that generates close to a billion dollars in revenues.

We are at 600m euros now I think by the time all deals are closed we should be at, a minimum of 800m euros in revenue.

It's 80 mil., 85 for 2017. 100 mil. is from 2018 and by then some other club will have a bigger contract probably and we're gonna bitch again how we should have gotten more. Kinda.

It's a good deal I guess. 4/5.

I like the part about large incentives. Considering that we ourselves pay huge bonuses to players when we in titles.
