I am proud of Barca. Even in bad form or rough periods on the calendar we are forcing positive results.

That only happens because he have the finest collection of world class, game-changers, players. When the team doesn't work, the individual brillance of Messi, Neymar and Suarez gets us results we wouldn't normally get when we're playing poor or the game is not working.

This. This team is simply terrifying. We're the djokovic of football

Disagree that we played badly. Think was smart to bore the game considering tight schedule, as frustrating as it is watching.

Was angry at Alba tryng to outmuscle Atletico player at first goal 😠

Our first 25 minutes were shockingly bad. Rest of first half was great. I didn't bother to watch the second half.

And f*** you Filipe Luis, dirty slimebag. Should be banned for 10 games!

Fatigue, clearly has set in which is normal considering the brutal schedule in January & February...but going forward, the blueprint is there for future opponents on how to stand a shot at a positive result against this Barcelona and Lucho will have to solve this problem

Extremely happy and thankful for the win and 3 points, but not happy about the process at all. The first 20 minutes aside, Atletico even had the upper hand with one man down and the momentum didn't turn our way until they were two men down. And we were playing at Camp Nou, that is just bad, plain old bad.

The way I see it, we are still cashing in on individual brilliance, this team is very unbalanced, unlike the team we had under Guardiola. MSN is great, period and it seems that we win games by hoping that MSN will outscore the opponent. Our midfield and defense have so many problems: Masch loses his position far too often; the two wingbacks Dani and Alba are great offensively but meh at best defensively; our midfielders panic and produce far too many mispasses upon being pressed and can't maintain possession and control that are badly needed; our midfielders lack the ability to drive the ball forward generally (Iniesta can when his form is good) and Messi has to constantly drops deep to help organize; we seem to have abandoned the middle route and rely heavily on the wings offensively.

Some of you might say at the end of the day what matters is whether we won or not. Yes, we won. But I can't help being worried that our team looks VERY heavy-headed and unbalanced with a great MSN up front and a really underwhelming midfield and defense. We can't always win games by hoping that Bravo and Ter Stegen will have a game of their life and MSN will bail us out by outscoring our opponent, we need to rebuild/solidify our foundation which is our defense and midfield.

well, barca had best defence last season, why do we forget that? under guardiola, midfield was best in barcelona, now, under enrique, attack is the best, of course you set game plan for fast passing ball to attackers, there is nothing bad about it. No need to worry, real and atletico are worse in the league, in champions league we will see. Barca will win la liga. After this season barca needs to improve defence, i love masche but i think he is ready to go, alves also.

i still think lucho's approach to the game is more conducive to wins/results over a large sample of games. post anoeta, we have won 14 out of 15 games against top opposition (real, bayern, juventus, atletico, PSG). i don't think even the barca team from guardiola's heydey can match this sort of productivity, and i'm confident the stats point that way. I will agree however that, from an eye test, we had more control of matches under guardiola, but then again you can have 85 mins of absolute control in a game and still concede 2 from a naively placed high line ( chelsea 2012 comes to mind) .

You cannot be in top notch form all the time. It will go up and down, it happens to all teams. I saw Barca started the game in power saving mode, once they got hammered with 1st goal, turned up the engine, scored twice and went back to power saving mode again. Maybe it's the fatigue, maybe it's tactical. However, we got 3 points, Atleti pulled all the tricks on us but could not find a way to overcome this Barca version. Excited to see how the team was able to respond to Atleti's goal and very excited to see Messi running back to defend(can't remember when last time I saw that).

I don't know what happened with our defense that they seem to have collectively underperformed after a great season last season. Our defense was never the strongest I reckon but they need to do better.

What concerns me more is our midfield. I doubt having Rafinha and Denis Suarez back will help us stabilize things. Perhaps we do need a big-name midfielder who can keep the ball and drive it forward. Or perhaps Arda will unleash his potential with more time passing.
