I wonder what is so different at Bayern that makes the job so much less taxing than it was back home at Barça? I mean the pressure should be just as persistent and galling in Bavaria, right?
I honestly believe Pep leaving was just as much down to him realising that his team was in decline and in bitter need of reinvigorating. Something that he at the time wasn't interested in being in charge of - perhaps he was afraid he'd taint his legacy or ruin his relationship with his home town club, should thing turn sour? Was he exhausted? No doubt? Is it that much more relaxing at any other title challenger out there? Doubtful.

Guess his bad relations with Rosell also played a part. At Bayern it seems like he enjoys good relations with Sammer, KHR and all the other guys in charge.

No doubt. But enough to make him leave the love of his life? I still think there is more to it than that - and the reasons he himself gave.

Pep in his own words left Barca as he was physically exhausted and was struggling to motivate the players.

If it comes to that point he will leave Bayern, the timescales are not really relevant.

I don't recall the motivational problems, but yeah, that makes more sense.

I think you are right on the money, Don. That is also what "Pep Confidential" pretty much said. Being unable to motivate the players and not being able to offer more was just an excuse for his personality and philosophical clash/divide from Rosell and his lieutenants.

That's bullshit. He obviously wasn't friends with Rosell as he was with Laporta but case was actually exactly the opposite: He used this "clash" as a pretext for moving, which was always on the cards anyway. Or more accurately, let the fans think that way as truth was and still is too painful to hear and that is Pep is ambitious guy and always had his sights away of Barca.

And yeah I bet he "enjoys" psycho Sammer hovering over him. Just like he enjoyed Bayern medical staff.

Blaming it all on big bad Rosell is more convenient, that's all.

That book suggested he had issues with both Laporta and Rosell. It also quite clearly says the reason he left in the end was down to struggling with the players and motivating them to same level as before.

With barca he had to compete with real madrid and all there spanish authorities backing. Now at bayern he has no one to compete with and they probably have the madrid style backing

It so happened that Bayern were completely dominated by Dortmund for 2-3 years before Pep moved there... It was AFTER he signed for them that their domination started

A lot of Bayern fans would disagree with that, he did get a trebble winning team..

And Pep signed for them even before they won the treble... Or at least was in talks.

But then again... He did sign for a team that were CL finalists and only lost out on penalties just a year before though, so he was not exactly signing for a challenge there. He was indeed going for an easy work

Pep announced going to Bayer On 16 January 2013 ,he didn't know he will coach a treble winning team and probably if he expected that he would have looked elsewhere
Winning the treble in 2013 was Pep biggest problem ,he has transformed the team and renewed it .dominated Bundesliga like no one did b4 and will probably leads them to their 1st ever 4th consecutive league title yet everyone will bitch about him not winning the CL and how he destroyed a treble winning team .Pep had nothing to gain and everything to lose tbh
He probably thought that this is a team full of potential that he could get them to the next level, problem is that they were there already
