If they would have won against Valencia we would have played more seriously against Deportivo.

Sure, but what really mattered was, if that had happened we would have played Atletico in a different mindset (a more intense must-win game) and who knows what would have happened.

of course it could fall short if their players don't get along with rafa, which is highly likely. that's one thing carlo had that was so important for real, harmony in the team.

I really believe RM will come back stronger.

I agree 100%.

People (meaning Barca fans, Premfaces, Bayern fans etc, all those who stand to gain from RM weakness) are too eager to write the team/Perez/Rafa off for next season. All this wishful thinking and juvenile silliness reminds me of all the nonsense said about Lucho/Barca for basically the entirety of last season. The silliness only ended once we got extremely close to, or outright won the mother effin Treble.

We were much superior to last year's Atletico tbh (it's no surprise we beat them 4/4). I don't see us losing the title regardless of Madrid's result with Valencia. They lost the title because they were the 2nd best team in a lot of important games (they lost 3 points vs Sociedad, 3 points vs Bilbao, 5 points vs Valencia, 6 points vs Atletico, 3 points vs us, 2 points vs Villareal). They only top team they got all points against was Sevilla, and that with a pretty big slice of luck. They just weren't good enough against the top teams to win the league. They looked intimidating against the small teams, but a lot of good teams gave them a tough time last season. Compared with RM, we lost 3 points vs Sociedad, 0 points vs Bilbao, 0 points vs Valencia, 0 points vs Atletico, 3 points vs Real Madrid, 0 points vs Villareal, 2 points vs Sevilla. So, in top games, Real Madrid lost 22 points, while we lost 8. Almost 3 times less. The only reason we didn't win La Liga in a more convincing manner is because some fluke losses due to lapses of concentration against smaller teams.

Meh, not much seperated in those matches. You had some major luck in both matches against Valencia, you got 6 points when you might as well could have gotten one. We played better than Valencia in both of our matches against them, far better than you did, yet we only got 1 points. Then again, we got lucky against sevilla, you didnt. You might have performed better, but its hardly a world of difference. There are thin margins at this level. You got more points overall against the top teams and that indicates something, and its not undeserved that you won. Im just saying the results doesnt always paints the full picture, take Valencia, we were far better than them over 2 games but only got 1 point out of it.

3rd player bought after Danilo & Casemiro return.. Lucas Vazquez return to Real Madrid as well from Espanyol

We have a buy-back for him for only 1 M. We basically bought him because he's dirt cheap and will help us with keeping the Spanish players and academy players quota. So far the only "real" transfer is Danilo, since we only brought back players we already had.

There isn't to much between us and Madrid so we can't rest on our laurels. Their squad is still strong and a huge threat. There is a fine line between success and failure between us and Madrid.

We have Perez, you dont. So obviously you have a massive advantage regardless of how good each squad is.

Can tick off the Benitez Spaniard transfer box. Probably means Jese is off elsewhere too along with Asensio/Denis. Can't see him, Cheryshev, Asensio and Vazquez all here.
