Found this, thought id drop it here

I'm sorry, but this is a joke, right? Amazing skills and goals? There is really nothing special there. Most times he "shines", the defending and even the goalkeepers are outright pathetic. Also, did he really just fall on his ass all by himself @ 0:16?
First time I watched a youth player "skill" video other than from Odegaard, and I must say, I don't get the hype.

Granted this is not the best compilation video of Lee Seung-woo (I have seen better ones) out there, but to call him a joke and your blanket and wholesale denial of his talent is more pathetic than those defenders, Ryu.

I bet if he were German, or better yet a friggin' Bayern prospect you would have been uuuuhhh and ahhhh over him.

Oh, the defending is pathetic? Sorry that Benatia and Neuer don't play in youth teams!

Your post is pathetic...lets discuss Bayern's big talents

I didn't call him a bad joke, I called the idea to name that compilation "amazing skills and goals" a bad joke.
I wouldn't be all over him, even then, I guess. What I saw looked solid, but as I said, really nothing shockingly extraordinary. Most our guys at 15, 16 are not too different from what I've seen, I think. Odegaard in contrast, does seem special, and he's about the same age. It's just weird to have "amazing skills" compilations on every maybe-above-average guy on youtube these days. Let the kids develop on their own and without facilitating having them become full of themselves just because some lunatics put together video material while calling them "the next Messi" etc. while there is in fact nothing too fancy. Football these days... really. /rant end

Right, because they aren't in a similar spotlight as those Barca boys, doesn't mean there aren't any. On average, they might actually be worse than La Masia's current prospects, true. That doesn't mean Barca only has little football geniuses at their disposal. Just look at how many La Masia products actually made it to Barca A in the last couple of years. Not that many and of those not that many seem like the next big thing at their respective position... you know which guys I'm hinting at.

What you're saying would be true for most other players but if you do a quick search on youtube you'd find Lee's recent games and would realize he really is the real deal.

To your own point, there are a lot of these videos on Youtube under the same title "amazing skills and goals", and actually, there is nothing wrong with any of them at all because to many, they are truly quite amazing, even though not as amazing as you'd have expected. And who labeled Lee Seung-woo "the next Messi"? Nobody yet. To ridicule a youth player based on some snippets of videos on Youtube is really wise, anyway.

By the way, can you point me to videos of some of your 15, 16 year old players? I promise I won't judge them like you did.

What? The reason why there were very few La Masia players made it to our first team is because our first team is extremely competitive already, many of whom were La Masia players themselves. Even with that case, we still had the likes of Rafinha, Roberto, Munir made it to the first team, with Samper, Adama and Sandro waiting in the pipeline. If that is not impressive, I don't know what is.

Don't be ridiculous, Ryu. There is no team out there with 100% homegrown players, especially with the elite teams. Still, Barca is one the teams with most homegrown players and one of the best youth academies out there.

That is literally what he has been called in the media. Go on and google it. ;)

OK I did. The only search result that associated him with Messi comes from a Man City site, which calls him the "Korean Messi".

I see nothing wrong with that. Weren't there plenty of XXX Messi's out there? Marco Marin was the German Messi for a while, then it was Khedira , then Goetze was mentioned.

What? Either your Google is different or you are using different search items. "Seung" plus "new messi" is sufficient.

I have to see the video yet ,but I honestly don't remember any time watched a video of "Amazing skills and goals" of a player who the defenders looks good .the defenders always look pathetic in those video
And actually that is the whole point,a good talent makes defenders looks pathetic not making them look bad
