Ok, recent rumours are saying that Gaby Milito is going back on the operation table YET again, without any knowledge about how long it will take for him to fully recover.
Sadly I think that this injury, is such a serious injury that it might end a promising career.
Best of luck Gabriel, and I for one, really do hope that you will fully recover, and come back stronger than ever.

i'm sad for Milito.. he is an excellent defender.. but i don't think he will recover after 4 knees operation
It wasn't an operation, just a check up...the press got it wrong.
Beast you missed out on Milito because of Perez and Valdano, the knee was just an excuse. Perez didn't want to pay at the time 15-20 million for a central defender. Valdano wanted him and there was an anti-Valdano movement in the club at that point...
If your medical staff were so fantastic and could see into the future for players injuries, why did you still sign Woodgate, and Robben, despite the fact they got the same injuries over and over? and did/have done since they signed. I say bullshit to your medical staff having some crystal ball tbh. They got it wrong so many times, and seeing as at the time Perez was known to be anti-big money defenders I feel it is more believable to believe the other story of events pointed outi n Marca and AS at the time.

we didn't miss out.. we refused to sign him when he failed medical due to his bust knee
woodgate didn't have a perm problem.. he played regularly with Boro & Spurs isn't he ?

on the other hand Milito problem is what the doctors warned about he will face perm problems in his knees... which is correct .. it's not debatable Warik

You refused to sign him because Perez thought the price tag was expensive for 'just a defender' which was his attitude at the time, it was only in 2004 when he realized you needed good defenders. Valdano negotiated the deal, Perez saw the price and told the clubs medical staff to be overly vigilant on the medical and cancel the deal over anything as he didn't like the price. So they did. Well known Beast, was all over the press about it...its undeniable considering Perez attitude at the time. I think time has dulled just how vehemantly anti-defense he was.
Woodgate played alot for Spurs, not for Boro, but even then Milito played regularly with no problems for Zaragoza...Woodgate will always have a weakness in that muscle which reoccured to, as will Gonzalo Rodriguez, as did Milito...I'd put money on Woodgate eventually getting a reoccurance of the injury. Point is all of Gonzalo (Villarreal), milito (Zaragoza) and Woodgate (Spurs) despite the weakness in their body have gone on to productive carreers at clubs. If Real HAD signed Milito they would have gotten 5 years injury free out of him. If they really had a crystal ball no way would they have turned it down, especially considering the form he had in those years.
The press got it wrong acting as if it was a major operation, and the details. All it was is a small incision into the knee, to put a microscopic camera inside it to check how the first operation went (that is the words of the specialist himself) and to see if they needed to 'clean' out the inside of the knee. It barely classifies as a major operation, its a minor procedure that is done alot on sportsmen and women when they've had knee problems. The press (as usual) exxagerated it.

No Warik it wasn't because he cost too much.. you are wrong. the fee was agreed with Zaragoza.. Milito failed medical ..i don't know from where you came up with this story!?
he don't want to spend on defenders yet both Samuel & Woody each cost double what Milito would have cost us.. !! come on man have some sense in your post

last year operation plus recovery was expected to be 9 month.. it took him 13 month and now they are on to it again and further time out is expected
It doesn't matter how he fared with Zaragoza.. the medical indicated it's a bigger risk , when we planned to sign him he was also injury free at the time.. doctors decided it's a risk and they were right... you paid 22 Mil for what ? a year ?

In 2004!! This is back in 2003 back when Perez thought Pavon would be worldclass, and a year after he kicked out Makelele and pushed Hierro towards the door! Ever since Perez came back you've got the blinkers on about him again my friend.
making it up? It WAS ALL OVER THE PRESS AT THE TIME. You know Beast any time a player gets injury there are always residuals...when you do your knee in your NEVER going to be 100% in that knee again. All your medical staff did was say "oh a serious knee injury isn't 100%, better cancel this" which was stupid as it would never be 100% again and had no baring on him playing for Zaragoza extremely successfully and injury free. Ever broken a bone in your joint? or severely damaged a muscle? you'd know its never perfect again after that. All they did was point out the obvious, something most medical teams would overlook.
It was a political move against Valdano from some people whispering in Perez ear, and Perez being stubborn and refusing to believe that the defense was as important as the attack.
No it's ridiculous that one month after he failed your test he passed Zaragoza's medical tests. Fooled there doctors to, and the medical doctors for the Argentine national team...and ours...it fooled every doctor but yours. Or maybe it is because all your doctors pointed out was the weakness that anybody retains in the muscle when they suffer a serious muscle injury.
Actually the FCB site is saying its looking good he'll be back for the season. Extra time out is what the press said.
We paid 22 million for someone who had 5 years with no problems at Zaragoza. What happened was just unfortunate tbh. Next thing you'll claim Real knew it'd go on Tuesday 29th April 2008, in a CL Semi Final against Man Utd, right?
P.S: Van Nistelrooy you bought aswell, despite having knee problems through alot of his career. He did the same knee in earlier this season that he did earlier in his career. Your doctors obviously aren't as fab as you make out. There is ALWAYS a weakness in these things once you've done them once.

Still no prediction of when he'll be able to train though. I think there's a chance we'll never see him play professionally again, as horrible as it sounds. His injury already flared up badly once and had to be re-operated upon at about this stage in his recovery. Best of luck to Gabi and a quick recovery!
