Its funny how obsessed they are with making world class signings rather than building a world class team, they are like a high end version of QPR. Rather than replacing deadwood with hard working solid team players who fit the system, they seem to be hell bent on signing the biggest names out there. What good is having Falcao and Di Maria going to do when they are playing alongside Valencia and Young.

United teams of past under Ferguson had players like Fletcher, Neville, Carrick who had the work ethic to allow the better players to do their thing. Right now they have 4-5 World class players playing with 4-5 mid-lower table tier players. Out of their signings so far I have to say Blind makes the most sense.

United have brought shaw and dojo, as well as blind and herrera, they need another CB and if they are not plagued with injuries again this season they should do well. LVG will make it work.

i agree with what you guys are saying about ffp, obviously the bit about us being worried about ffp is not true, i was more interested in the suggestion that the deal will be permanent, falcao's agent has apparently confirmed that, we have spent so much this summer we probably just wanted to offset the cost of falcao to next summer, ac milan did the same when they signed ibrahimovic...

Just buying Falcao may not be a problem with FFP. But his wages are high and United are planning to buy Vidal or some other mid. That is when the problem might arrive. Di Maria Rooney Falcao Van perise are on very high wages. That is got to count for something right?

Di Maria and Falcao might be two fancy signings if you want to look at it like that (although very welcome still!), but the other four in Shaw, Herrera, Blind and Rojo are all very much needed. It's not been a perfect window, but it's not been far off. Sure we still have some 'mid-lower tier' players, but with our injured players back, they won't need to be seeing much game time at all. Feel free to mention which of our players out of the strongest eleven are in that lower bracket you mention. I don't think there are any.

De Gea
Rafael
Smalling
Rojo
Shaw
Herrera
Carrick
Blind
Di Maria
Rooney
RVP
Falcao
Januzaj

That's more than eleven and there isn't a mid-low tier player amongst them.

I'd be more worried about Liverpool's transfer window if I were you. They had the money and CL football on offer, to make three or four world class signings to really to that next step up, but instead have ended up with the best part of ten average ones.

Rodgers is a good manager but why he failed to spend some of that money on some class defenders is beyond me. Moreno might do well but Lovren had his level at Southampton.. You'll score loads again this season, but I can see your defence letting in just as many as last season.

What is there to feel sad about Welbeck. They have Falcao, Rooney and RVP. And isn't welbeck bad?

Hes local, has pace and good link up play none of which we dont have without Di maria, not to mention English which with the way we are going is quite important. And as poor as some people think he is, hes better than what they have, a direct top 4 rival, especially in Arsenal's system.
