David Navarro gets an 8 month ban for punching someone yet this guy, who has possibly ended a player's career with an unbelievably bad tackle gets 3 month and a platry fine. How does that work ?

I find it rather logical. You dont punch a guy without intention. You can tackle some1 with or without intention. Whatever the case....

Hey i just read about a guy in denmark was hit by lightning during a match and lost his leg :eek:

Piss off he stamped yes other have done it and if they had done this then they would deserve the ban its all down to bad luck it had to happen to someone the lads leg almost came off .

Ban for at least a year or the system is a joke.

Nah he deserved it. Witsel still has studs on his back imprinted from last year when WAZIL stood frontal on his back...could have broken his spine ;)

How long was Pepe Banned? that guy was twice as bad.

Btw, Witsel has received dead threats

You're either really dumb or a Standard-supporter.

Pepe should have been banned for a year though, but someone was probably pulling some strings for Madrid again.

I am from Belgium like you and no i dont supporter Standard. No team in BE is worth supporting.

It isnt me that is partial...both players were dirty and wazilewski should have been punished a long time ago.

@non belgians:
.u see a broken leg and demand justice without even knowing what justice really means..u dont know these players...u dont know anything about our league.
@FlyLo:
...offc we cant allow broken legs lol...but u act like he shot the guy. Look at his attack ,not the injury. Witsel MUST BE PUNISHED
but wazilewski is scum. These attacks happen every week in our league but cause not such injuries by pure luck. Wazil is lucky not to have injured players like this ...he surely tried alot... So dont find a black sheep in witsel , but react on every big faul. People need to see blood before they (over)react and thats surely aint right...
offcourse most of the people here only respond to such sad images with broken legs while alot of videos can be made with same kind of faults...made by defenders looking to really hurt players.

You guys on the forum are all sheep. Thinking inside the box and following the crowd.

You guys overreact...u see a broken leg and demand justice without even knowing what justice really means..u dont know these players...u dont know anything about our league.

So what if Wasilewski is a tough player. His tackles are hard but rarely (never) dangerous. He uses his ellbows too often but never hurt anyone as bad as Witsel just did. Just look at the tackle, it's disgusting. He KICKS DOWN ON THE PLAYERS LEG. That's NOT a natural action in a game (the Taylor-tackle for example, was, that was a combination of bad luck and recklesness). Witsel clearly had intention to HURT and not to get the ball.

Therefore: at least 6 month ban.

And just because other tackles don't get punished enough, doesn't mean that this should go equally unpunished.

Look at drinking and driving: if someone gets caught drunk behind the wheel they get a fine and might have to surrender their license. If they killed someone while drinking and driving, they will end up in prison. It's not right, but it's natural.

Here are some comments off the Anderlecht manager

Manager Herman Van Holsbeeck also looked shocked after the match. "What I saw here tonight, did not belong on a football field. If you want to be a big team, you have to show that with regard to your opponents, and Standard clearly did not do that. This is mainly a humane tragedy, as Wasilewski and Polak will have to recover for a long time. Whether we will buy another player? I don’t know that yet. We will maybe look around during the last 24 hours, but we will not do anything right away. When you see how Sare had to substitute for Polak today - again, under difficult circumstances - and how well he did, then maybe we have to look for solutions here", according to the manager

Feel abit sick watching over and over but its that surreal I keep thinking it isnt real . Having read some things on it the players family have asked for piece from the media during the next few weeks I honestly think this is the worst football injury ever seen .

And the sad thing is it wasnt a accident.

you are right about the fault. But u clearly havent seen wazyl do his dirty tricks. The guy isnt elbowing to prevent players from attacking. I saw him several times run near a guy and stopped him by running aside him ...looking at the others players face and then hitting him right on the head elbowing. That's a 100% pure attack that also hasnt anything to do with football. I'm not even talking about some simple elbow handling but attacks.

Btw, last game Wazyl stood vertical on Witsels back. What if he hit his spine? The guy couldnt even walk. Wazyl:"football aint for pussies"

I'm not sorry to say this: bad experience with polish mentality overall.

I just watched the video of this. I dont really see how there can be any doubt that he should be banned for life? If you purposefully break a players leg, which he clearly did, then theres no way you should be allowed to play football again. It wasnt an accident, it was deliberate, that is sick and should be punish accordingly.

Alf Inge Haaland's injury was bad, that wasn't an accident either. Should the perpetrator of that crime have been banned for life? What would your reaction be if Witsel releases an autobiography boasting about this tackle?

EVERYBODY WANTS THIS

but if that was the case you wouldnt have any leagues left my friend...it happens alot in less qualitative leagues. Not every league is as "friendly" as La Liga.

Yesterday i saw a compilation video of related football injuries...it seems like it happenned quit a lot in the past

Yes he should have been banned for life, we are talking about the Roy Keane tackle right? Keanes comments were evil, almost to a humorously evil extent, "I went out to hurt him, I had him in my sights. Bang, take that you cunt". Keane got off very lightly, but I think Keane only escaped with that punishment because he admitted he did it on purpose a few years later, he should have been banned for life. I dont even see how there can be an argument, its like going out to end a players career......why should you not be banned for life for that?? Witsel acted like a cunt after the tackle aswell, if he releases an autobiography boasting about the tackle then it will hopefully be too late, because hopefully he wont have been playing football for a long time.
