As long as they can walk del Bosque will take his selected midfielders that he took to the last four tournaments. Even not fully recovered he took Cesc(hamstring) Iniesta(hamstring) Torres to Worldcup 2010. Despite Puyol having surgery he wanted him to stay with the team at Euro 2012. Good form or not he will probably take him to Brazil as long as he isnt having surgery this time next year. He waited till the last minute for Villa too and in the end didn't carry a replacement, just gave the number to Pedro, just like he didn't name one for Puyol. In any case why hypothesize about injuries when Thiago himself could get injured in England as happened the last two seasons in a less physical league.

Be that as it may it's not a completely impossible circumstance. VDB is conservative to put it mildly but if Xavi really were injured I bet he would feel much more compelled and comfortable bringing in an excelling Thiago fresh off a great debut season with United rather than a patiently waiting Thiago who's stuck on the bench at Barca and considered "still just a prospect". It's FAR from guaranteed that Thiago will even get considered but it's not as impossible as some people make it out to be.

I doubt he is even gonna consider an offer from RM. Its clear that he wants to leave and I think Rosell wants another player ready to take the attention away from his and the management's incompetence regarding this transfer.

Its not looking good for Rosell's re-election plans lol.

Not thought of it like that, thats a good point, maybe a Thiago Silva or a David Luiz? definitely another possibility, i still dont rule out him staying though, i think everyday he dosnt leave hes less likely to, if he was that determined to go would things not be done by now? i dont know just me speculating.

As for Rosell, hes got to be a dead man walking surely? do you get the feeling the Neymar signing was his way of trying to show fans hes the right man? Cryuff and a few other journo's like hunter seem to suggest it was more of a luxury/ego signing rather than a necessity signing?

But again isnt Isco a wide forward much like Mata? wont he be competeing with different players than Thiago? Isco isnt a central midfield player from what ive seen.

Im not saying Thiago will go to the WC if he joins United and has a great year, no one can predict that, all i was saying was a lot can change in the space of 12 months, this time next year no one knows what condition anyone will be in, and to wrtie off the hopes of someone was being a bit premature and assuming.

Thats all i was trying to say.

I'm just telling you if it's truly Mazinho's desire to see his kid get any minutes at the 2014 World Cup, his best bet would be to have his kid stay in Barcelona and work his ass off to get on the pitch and shine with the club that emulates the style of La Roja the best.

If it's Maniznho's desire to get him and his kid paid right away and to get Thiago more club minutes w/o much competition then Man U is certainly the place for them to be.

I hope for Thiago Silva or Marquinhos. BIG No to Luiz.

I think Thiago is set for a move, its a question of time now instead of if or whether he'll move or not. I think Neymar will help us a lot and provide us with another real goal scoring threat and I dont necessary think its bad business and even Pep wanted him in 2011 although it can definitely be seen as a luxury signing too in many ways as using him for commercial purposes and things like that.

Our dependency on Messi to score goals has to stop. I fully applaud the signing of Neymar, it was one of the best things we could have done other than signing a stud CB. Rosell is working on the Marquinhos deal next.

Cruyff is a senile old man. I love the man and his contributions to the club but he's talking out of his ass these days.

Fair enough, i just dont think there is anything Thiago can do to oust your best midfield players, club legends who demand a starting place through sheer existence never mind their unrivalled ability, no matter how hard Thiago works unless Xavi is injured he dosnt play, so i dont see how he proves himself in this way.

Changing angle slightly, what would your reaction be if he rocked up at Madrid or a Bayern? would that annoy you more given the competition hed face at those clubs to, would make leaving even more unforgivable? if he joins United hes guaranteed to start, that isnt the case at those clubs.

Marquinhos be your first choice for centre back? dont follow Italian football much at all so seen very little of him.

As for Cryuff, The "maybe barca should sell Messi" comments were a bit odd, sounds like you see him as your version of our very own Paddy crerand, they love the club but embarrass the fans with stupid remarks perhaps bought on by advancing years :) Crerand 1 day before Sir Alex retired said:

The mans a babbling mess these days bless him, oh and hes convinced the Thiago deal is 100% done so its off for sure.

Yeah the David Luiz link is odd, hes a horrendous centre back which is why Chelsea started using him in midfield, hes got lots of ability but his defending is awful he makes so many mistakes its untrue, that and the fact hed cost you millions i dont get why youd be that keen on him, far better and cheaper options must be out there.

I hope so but im getting worried, hold me :( lol

Do you think the fact Madrid as they always do stuck their nose in made you pus through the deal earlier or was the plan to always sign Neymar this summer?

Yep, especially having an inconsistent Pique linking up with a Luiz who is medicore defensively is a disaster in making.

It was a plan to sign Neymar now especially since we had to do something with the over dependace on Messi.

Xavi is getting up there in age and this upcoming season would have been/is the season he would have been given his chance. His competition for minutes is Cesc not Xavi or Iniesta. That's still only 4 players to rotate for 2 positions for a season's worth of games. Our manager Tito has to be better at rotating our players, I'll definitely admit that. That's the thing, Cesc will have all the minutes at midfield he wants if Thiago leaves. How does that help Thiago's chances for a starting spot with La Roja?

It would be a total insult if Thiago moved to Real Madrid. His brother's days with the club would be numbered if they tried that non-sense.

As for Marquinhos, I think he's the future. I would prefer Thiago Silva but that might just not happen and Marquinhos is a younger option and could end up with the club for many years to come. I really hope the deal goes down.

Where has the overdependance on Messi thing come from? a couple of years ago you had that 3 pronged attack of Messi - Eto'o - Henry that was deadly, 3 genuine goalscorers and it worked brilliantly, is it simply down to Messi wanting to play through the middle now and hence its become all about pass to Messi rather than the attack as a whole? becomes a big problem if Messi gets injured i guess like we saw at the end of the season, just dont know how or why the club has allowed themselves to become so 1 man dependant for goals?

Our other forwards being useless and missing on a lot of chances.

Really? that seems to go against what Vilanova told him in a meeting before the U21 tournament so we're led to believe, Thiago asked if hed get more games this season and Tito said he couldn't guarantee that, Thiago is one they think of for the future not the present. So how do you know this was going to be the season Xavi took a back seat and he got his chance? surely the club and the manager would have told Thiago this already and hed have said he was staying long ago if that were the case? not saying what youve said is wrong just that it goes against what we've heard coming out from your manager so far.

Is Thiago competing with Fabregas for a spot though, for Spain i mean? surely the players hes competing with are the alonsos, Xavis, Martinez's in the squad? when i watch Spain Fabregas seems to play far further forward than Thiago would do.

Would Barca really dump Rafinha if Thiago went to Madrid? wouldnt that be unfair on him, not his fault his brother made the move surely?

Sounds good, do you see him partnering Pique or is Puyol still a dominant figure when fit in the defence? Pique seemed to have a poor season by his standards.
