As I said, what bugs me big time is that not all shirts are the same freaking size. Naturally I'll buy XL as I'm 1.88 in height, but at the same time some XL's are simply too big, L is much better in that case. Some shirts like our or 2009/10 away are perfect in XL and a slim-fit that should be for all f-shirts, while the ones from the previous years should've been L for me cause they are way different...

Why can't they just sell these shirts regularly? Before there weren't such "player issue shirts" at all, I simply thought its the same thing most of the times. How are the replicas any better for us? Yeap, still better then cotton when doing sports but I don't like the idea they're not as good as the authentic ones, makes my collection feel like a bunch of rip-offs.
I do prefer a slimmer fit as I said, too many of our replica shirts, especially the home ones are too fat.

Well, for one thing authentic player issued jerseys cost more than the replica jerseys, most casual fans buy the cheaper replica jerseys anyway. Secondly, authentic player issued jerseys have a slimmer fit, which might not fit your typical couch-potato soccer fans, haha.

The thing that gets me is I don't understand why authentic jerseys cost much more than the replica jerseys, in general. The differences in stitching, embroidery vs. print and materials used don't justify the much higher prics authentic jerseys are selling for.

By the way, those of you who think you are buying something exactly like what Messi, Iniesta and Xavi etc. are wearing on the field are getting ahead of yourselves. The so-called "authentic player issued" Nike jerseys for sale on the market have some minor details that are different from the true match issued jerseys. It is Nike's cunning marketing gimmick.

So if I'm buying the 125 Euro Authentic Player Issue is just another replica but with ironed badges and a different material, still not the material the real shirts are made of, but just different from regular replicas.

Meh, the thing is you don't really see player issue shirts in stores, thats why 99% of the bought ones are Replicas, also, I don't remember seeing Authentic Player Issue anywhere 4-5 years ago, it's something pretty recent.

Exactly. Even the authentic player issued jerseys are not the same size because of the differences in cut/design. For example, I felt the size L 10/11 authentic Barca jersey is slightly bigger than its 12/13 counterpart.

Since you are 1.88M in height, unless you are super skinny, you might want a get a size XL authentic jersey, just to be on the safe side.

Yeah, I'll probably buy XL for a Player Issue, but...really, if it's nothing real it's not worth that money, if you're saying the material isn't the one used on the field, kinda meh.
Replicas are still good I guess, but I feel sorry for all that money I spent if there are nothing close to reality, I never believed they're 100% the same, I knew the actual ones have printed badges and stuff, but I got mad when I heard the sizing and cuts are different, not to mention material used.

I don't know about the 13/14 authentic player issued jerseys for sale (actually the Barca badge is embroidered, not ironed on like on the 12/13 authentic jersey), but I can tell you those 12/13 authentic player issued jerseys that were sold in stores and websites were almost identical to the true match issued jerseys that Barca players wear, including the ironed on badge, the laser-cut holes and the mesh back panel. The only difference between a commercially available authentic player issued jersey and the real match issued jersey is the wash label (the commercially available authentic jerseys have the wash labels separately stitched to the inner seam of the jersey while the true match issued jerseys have the wash labels printed directly on the inner side of the jersey) and the additional piece of fabric stitched to the back of the jersey near the Senyera flag label on the commercially available authentic jerseys.

Sorry if I have confused you. Long story short, the commercially available authentic jerseys (selling for 125 euros etc.) are as good as you can get, they are not bad at all.

Nah, only minor differences that jersey freaks like me would notice and care. Just to clarify, the 125-euro jersey is 98% identical, whereas the replica is probably just 50% identical to the real thing worn by the players.

My two 2006/07 aways are extremely wrinkled because of a wash...one has ronnie printing and it seemed to affect the printing by causing minor damage on it's edges, especially the letters. Problem is, it's like 7 years and never had problems, now they look like shit. Any idea how to repair them? I washed them twice and no progress, i believethe machine had a bad setting when i washed em en didn't notice or someone put them randomly, maybe water too hot, also affected the lettering on an Arsenal. makes me mad cuz that shirt with ronnie is my only r10 printed and that on camp nou in 06.......
i didn't find a solution to fix them yet, printing 100% quslity is clearly lost but the rest should be fixable.

Sorry, I am by no means an expert in fixing prints and namesets... Do you mean the edges of the letters have come off slightly? I'd think if there is still glue present on the edge of the letters, you might be able to iron them back on, just make sure when you iron, place a layer of cloth (like a T shirt or something) between the iron and the letters. Ironing the letters and the number might get rid of some wrinkles, however you might still have some minor creases present.

In general, avoid machine washing the jersey if it has numbers and letters printed on it. However, I have gotten away with machine-washing some of my jerseys by turning them inside out. Nowadays the materials they use for the prints are generally pretty durable.

Yeah, my Messi jersey from 09-10 got a little messed up in the wash (that was the first year I really started collecting jerseys so I didn't realize what could happen), now I always just wash them all in a bucket of soap/water, let them air dry & haven't had any additional problems.

That's just how they make money, which I understand. But they don't really need to have new kits every season. Bayern actually uses their home kit for 2 seasons before changing.
