He has serious limitations as a defensive fullback and needs a PR machine to hype his long passes, crosses and assists so over time he gets received better than he is by football mainstream

Madrid is the ideal place

Marcelo was dogshite as a defensive fullback in his prime and he's an all-time great.

Trent's immense offensive qualities more than makes up for his poor defensive instincts.

Doku is one of the best dribblers to ever play the game. He destroys nearly everyone.

Could be an option but he’s pretty underwhelming at CM. I think Carvajal being 33 and coming back from an ACL is going to find his role reduced more likely scenario.

Overall a good signing for Madrid. He will win them lots of points in the league by creating goals and assists, and his defensive frailties will be less exposed against most LL teams.

In bigger games, if Alonso could ensure a system where there's other cover behind him and his main job is to attack, that could work especislly if you choose to have your other fullback more defensive.
