Arguably the hottest striker in the world right now. 13 goals in 7 league games for Stuttgart (who are currently 2nd in Bundesliga) is already his career high. Also scored 11 in 22 games when on loan at German club last year (missed some time due to injury). Had two ok seasons for Rennes before returning to Germany where he already played for Cologne years ago without too much success but nobody could really expect this explosion.
Is he a late bloomer (at 27) or did he just find the club/coach (BTW, Stuttgart's coach is Sebastian Hoeneß, son of Dieter and nephew of Uli Hoeneß) who can get the most out of his abilities? Maybe both? We'll see how he does if/when he moves to a bigger club which will happen sooner or later. Clearly can't keep this ridiculous goal scoring record up for whole season but I guess he already did more than enough to get attention from EPL clubs and they'll come for him next summer if not in January already.
We can say "it's Bundesliga, eveyone has great stats there" but some great goals in here.
Added another hattrick last weekend. Looks like a guy playing with all the confidence in the world who can't do anything wrong.
