Atletico easily. They came so close twice. Closest you can get and not win, which is funny in its own way. Packed era too. Meeting MSN Barca in quarters, Pep Bayern in semi and father of CL in the final. Damn impossible run.

That 2014 - 2016 Atletico was great.

Juventus lost the last 3 finals vs Milan on pens, MSN Barca, and one of the strongest Madrid sides ever. I mean, it counts a lot who you meet in the final.

You can meet Tottenham, or Dortmund, and you can meet some fecking scary sides.

Both Atletico and Juve were unlucky to meet really big clubs with many elite players in finals.

Juventus and Barcelona are the biggest underperformers in the history of the European Cup.

A club the size of Barcelona needs at least 8 UCLs and should have 9 UCLs now.
A club the size of Juventus needs at least 4 UCLs and should have 5-6 UCLs now.

I guess for both of them, the European Cup is really a huge stain on the overall legacy.

I agree about Juve,not so much for Barca. Only 4 teams are ahead.

Before 2006 I would agree about both,no question.

Barcelona has had the most impact on the game and has the biggest amounts of all timers in its ranks. How come clubs like Liverpool and Bayern have more European Cups than Barcelona

61 86 and 94 are finals.
No shame in losing to Eusebio Benfica or THE Milan side.

Should be beating Steaua with closed eyes though. Their keeper saved all 4 penalties.

2000 against a decent Valencia side.

Dont know about 1960,I know that the final was 7-3 at Hampden park.

1975 against Leeds..dont know anything about that game.

But I agree,with those players you shouldnt take near 100 years to win.

1. The 1961 final we hit the woodwork around 5-6 times, it was called the final of the square posts. You cannot tell me that Barcelona wasn’t better than Benfica of that year. Barcelona was the first team in the history of the European Cup to beat Real Madrid in the 2nd round. Imagine a Madrid who won 5 European Cups in a row finally gets dethroned Barcelona out of all teams.

2. Barcelona 1993-94 was the best version of Barcelona in its entire history until 2005-06. Anyways I’m getting sidetracked. Imagine coming off 4 consecutive LaLiga titles and losing the final in that way. If Cruyff just humbled himself and didn’t say anything we would’ve won perhaps, the only reason Milan performed that well was that we were too arrogant and self absorbed. And this is proven by the fact in 3 consecutive UCL finals reached Milan lost 2 and won that 1 due to our arrogance.

3. 1959-60 we won the league for the 2nd time in a row, and we did it with Di Stefano’s Madrid in the league. In the Clasicos played, we ended up drawing on aggregate 3-1 in Camp Nou and 2-0 in Bernabeu. And I also heard that there was problems between the players and manager due to wages and bonuses and what not. And that was the only reason we lost 3-1 in both games and ended 6-2 on aggregate, when it shouldn’t have due to that stupid instability we had prior to the tie.

4. We had no business losing 1986 final. Enough said.

5. 1974-75 we fumbled big time, we went and attacked insanely for the first goal in the second leg against Leeds in the semis, just to concede first and that prevented us from coming back. Bayern barely won against Leeds due to refereeing decisions but I think that Barcelona was better than Leeds and would match Bayern back in the time.
