I said I thought he would struggle with Martinez and/or thuram and so it was.

But again blaming players for a piss poor defensive setup.

I remember full well when Puyol made his debut and was older. Looked like a clown.

Don't know if he'll ever be a presence in the box for clearing headers but overall there is a lot to be happy and optimistic about.

Puyol - was a avg level defender who was vastly overrated.

Cubarsi is definitely better than Puyol in terms of quality. But he lacks the physical attributes (including speed skills) to play in a high defensive line.

That's why I say Van Dijk is an example of a CP who has absolutely the full arsenal of skills and physicality.

Acceleration, long and short range speed, technique, first pass, IQ, play in the air, strength, power, height Absolutely everything.
