It's strange when I think how it is an amateur club (Auckland city fc) that has the most appearances in the FIFA club World cup.
Wellington Phoenix (in the Australian League) is the only non amateur club in New Zealand. Wellington Phoenix are not eligible to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup or a champions league even if they win the A-league.
