Considiring Nico's renewal and Diaz being too expensive this is the most realistic signing at the moment.. Except salary no risks, if he performs he can be signed permanently, if not he goes back to United.. Solid short term solution for LW and can also cover other positions up front.. The season is long, rotation is the key..

Good move.

Been saying this from the get go. Low risk with potential very good upside.

Only problem could be we sign him and then he turns bad.

Once Flick goes he will almost certainly turn to shit again just like Shark, provided Flick manages to make him a good player in the first place.

Ya I hope that doesn't happen.

But there is a possibility that United could let him go for around the 20m mark, next summer. So if he performs fine, a 20m player as a sub, even with a bit of attitude, is fine for me.
Saying this because ManU were asking for around the 40m mark for his transfer, so a year later and 10m off the books, we can get him for 20-25m next summer. Essentially will cost us the same 35-40m and United also gets their 35-40m.
All parties are happy.

Him taking a salary cut to force the move makes sense, United ending up paying none of it makes no sense though. Taking a salary cut would just make United MORE LIKELY to cover a percentage of it. Not making United pay at least 25% of his reduced wages seems like a miss, no?
