Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Controversial, but I also loved watching Messi in an Argentinian jersey during 2009-2011 even though the coaching selection was a disaster.

After Sabella joined (RIP mister), the front four during the WC 2014 Conmebol Qualifiers was a joy to watch.

------------------Higuain
Aguero----------Messi---------Di Maria

Shame that team peaked during the Qualifiers rather than the WC2014

Doesn't make much given is opposed to Trump - unhinged self serving bureaucracy of sociopaths, whose only goal is to steal money from taxpayers, destroy the heritage of their own great country and drive world into endless wars. Messi seems the pragmatic one, while Ronaldo is a typical self-destructing personality.

You will see a lot of people gather up in a beautiful stadium (with probably less beautiful pitch, based on Atlanta goalkeepers experience) in a country with very poor football culture like US for one man which is Leo. The atmosphere is tremendous for a country where people couldn't care less about this sport.

I wonder if America can ever become a country with respectable football culture. Maybe it is just that they find entertainment sports, that are all about the reflectors, the lights and media hype, like rugby and others more interesting than the beautiful game itself. I wonder if a great player like Messi can for a moment, at least when his goals and magic translate to their media language, make them impressed about the art of playing football. When the World Cup comes maybe, when football starts circling around their media all day for some time and they are forced to delve into it. They already had one in '94 but a different age is now, information age as they call it.

It is a futile hope it will ever be a nationwide sport. Comes the World Cup, the crowds will be present, as always, due to Latinos and first generations of immigrants. Where I am at, Polacks, Italians, Irish, show football at their Chicago taverns but that's as much recognition you can get.
A typical yankee with a baseball 🧢 says it is not football but soccer and played by sissies because of the way they dive after being barely touched.

1. (American) Football - NFL
2. Baseball
3. Basketball
4. Hockey

I think this is how it goes...
