Redcafe post on Yamal 👀
"Not really. Yamal's obviously great; a generational talent and already world class at 17, but people are just desperate for a new shiny thing to slobber over. We live in a world that's reactionary to abhorrent levels. We've found ways to monetize hype so it's just GOAT this GOAT that, first 100 matches of him VS Messi, then first 101 matches etc. Just let the kid play and evolve and let's see where he is in 5 years. What I saw from him against Inter was impressive, he's a spark every time he gets the ball, but he also lost possession 38 times in that match. I don't think I've seen that stat brought up once. It's all just glazing.
And yes, Flick's playground footy and La Liga teams being mostly cannon fodder outside of top 3 means his numbers will be inflated. Just look at Raphinha's numbers. That's being in the right system at the right time in the right circumstances. Barca and Real forwards will always have a massive quality mismatch over their La Liga peers. It's a fact, you've got on average a >200 elo disparity when playing anyone that's not Barca, Real or Atletico. You're playing with vastly superior teammates against vastly inferior opposition. Add to that a system like Flick's, where it's practically gung-ho 24/7, and you'll have impressive numbers pretty much all across the offensive part of your roster."
