General consensus days after fact, both from fans and among media, is that nobody understands what Manzano did, be it the moment he chose to end it mid-move AND the choice of added time
When you factor in 6 separate sub windows, 3.5 mins for Diakhaby injury and another 2 for VAR on the pen, the game should have had minimum 10-11 mins added time

Irrespective of how this affects RM, this led to more terrible PR for Spanish refereeing

I can already see it. 6 minutes et, two subs in that time, 2 minutes of rolling and VAR review. 97 minute at Montsomething. Araujo is already in the air, Gil fckin Manzano whistles, ball goes in.

Nah u can do the digging since you claimed the opposite is the case
Polish media on La Liga, British media all over it with Bellingham memes resurfacing. Fans on reddit incredulous memeing 'this is La Liga'. None of it good PR

Lahoz too was with COPE already claiming he's worried about ref egos + officiating with CTA commission ratings in mind (not getting into trouble rather than making right calls) and highlighting same points about added time

Far from any consensus everything was OK
