Not acceptable for you. But acceptable for Cholo Simeone. You overlook the fact Atletico are doing just fine in LL and CL with Alvarez involved.
Barca are doing more than just fine with Torres involved in the league and CL.

And it's acceptable by Hansi Flick.

So they should just stop looking for a new striker.

Great logic. 👍🏻

He is tactically tanking his value so we can buy him next season for pennies.
The excuses made for him are crazy. It's February and apparently he's already downing tools for a potential move next season.

Barca fans will be very disappointed spending their entire budget on him.

Comically overrated.

Take your medicine first and then remind yourself, Lewandowski had a similar goal drought after joining Barca. Those things happen.
You're deluded. Lewandowski never had a 10 game drought and he was washed up when he joined Barca.

Alvarez is in his absolute peak. He's 26 and currently 10 games without a goal in the league. A worse drought than many midtable strikers.

The fact that you're even comparing Alvarez to Lewandowski tells everything one needs to know. Even Grandpa Lewandowski never had this dry spell.

No, you are deluded to hate Alvarez. He was never the hype, because Messi assisted his goals during 2022 WC. And again your hatred originates from the trauma of Argentina winning the World Cup.

Correct. My "hatred" is the reason he hasn't scored in the last 10 league games. You got me. 👍🏻

Imagine being so dumb that you contradict your own argument with the "Messi hatred" nonsense in an Alvarez thread! 😂

If I was such a big Messi hater then I would never downplay Alvarez because that would make Messi and his WC triumph look even greater. Instead I would overhype him to make it look worse and easier for Messi.

My take on Alvarez makes Messi look even better.

It's simple. He's escaping criticism because he's Argentine and a friend/teammate of Messi. We have seen this movie before.

I have praised Enzo recently and have always talked highly of players like Lisandro, Lo Celso, Dybala, Montiel, Mac Allister, Tagliafico, etc. I have given Alvarez loads of praise here before. I rate him in general (just look at the last few pages for my take on his position and attributes). It's all right there.

It's crazy that criticising a big name player for not scoring a goal in 10 league games is some sort of a hot take and you get attacked for that. The bar is in hell and the bias is hilarious.

This is what happens when you talk about actual performances in an echo chamber.

How is he escaping criticism? Atletico fans are clearly not praising him

The interest from clubs around Europe is unsurprising despite his poor form. He's a young striker who's done a lot on the biggest stage of football, technically one of the best strikers there, with traits of a number 10 who is also good at finishing. Physically, aerially, not the most dominant so he is not perfect

Bad form won't drag away interest from top clubs. Kvara was absolutely horrible in his half season before joining PSG and turned out pretty good for them. Sometimes it's an opportunity to take them when their stocks are low, so maybe it just increases the interest and demand

He kinda is. Just look at the meltdown his fans had the moment I mentioned the huge goal drought. It's right infront of you. It hit a nerve and they started attacking me for just mentioning it.

Can you imagine the reactions if Kane, Haaland or Mbappe went 10 games without a goal?

That's not the point I am making though.

Never said clubs shouldn't be interested. He has talent and has had great performances in the past which I have happily acknowledged. In this awful striker market, he'll obviously be in demand.

The real question is whether he's the answer to Barca's problems? Is he good enough to lead the line for a club of this stature and expectations?

Actually he isn't that young anymore. He's 26 which is absolute peak age for a player with his attributes and profile.

Just because I criticised his recent form doesn't mean he's crap in general. Not my fault if people don't understand nuance and misconstrue genuine constructive criticism as hatred. 🤷🏻‍♂️
