I appreciate his usefulness when he was here, but I don't believe he adds value to us now and I don't think he was that great when he was here either.

And I'm saying that as someone who liked him at Valencia, but have been disappointed by his career trajectory and development.

Someone like Grimaldo makes more sense for us IMO. Having a FB that can play both sides would be a luxury, but need to be someone good in both phases in defending and attacking.

He might fill the LW position, be he better not play LB'ish. If for some fucking reason Nico won't come this season I would not be against Joao covering LW next season. Dude is talented af, but mentally he has some screws fucking lose. As I said, if all falls through and we need an LW Joao is our guy.

He can cover LB and RB and to be honest despite everything he is still miles better than Gerard Martin so for a back up wouldn't be a bad option.. Its clear that Balde and Kounde are first choice if fit but they'll need to rest, its a long season.. Against small teams in La Liga and early cup games Cancelo can be used..
