Joan García

So we'll have 3 keepers going into the new season? Mats already said he's staying put.
We'll see what happens. RAC1 says they aren't going to pressure Mats to leave but I assume if Garcia is coming and was promised the number 1 spot I think Mats will probably find a way out.

He's likely our keeper for many years to come, in what is promising to be a very remarkable period in the history of this club

What matters the most is his personality. I think he has passion and I think he has confidence. Things won't always go easy, especially in this high line, he may as well catch up to some critics... I hope Joan is a strong fella, unlike the guy he is replacing

He would be the biggest loser ever if he decides to just stay until 2028 warming the bench when he could leave for a club where he will start. It will just destroy any shred of respect he still has.

Dude has like 0 self-awareness, he still thinks he's one of the best goalies right now lol.

If Joan signs, Marc is gone in winter on a loan and we end up paying large chunk of his salary until the end of his contract.
Classic Barca move.

Few things:

1-Tek didn't renew, and he might never as he could be waiting for the situation to finalize
2-Tek might stay as 3rd GK, and we get the option of loaning our youngsters for once (looking at Astralaga and Yaakob.
3-I won't mind Ter Stegen staying and it is logical move. Joan Garcia is atm, a one season wonder.
If Marc is entertaining his chances against him, so be it. Let's so how it goes next year. Will Garcia take his game to the next level or get back to being a relegation level GK? If it is a former, then getting rid of Ter Stegen will be easier than now, if Joan is a bust, well, at least we still kept what we have.

Finances is obvious hardle, but Deco last interview suggest we might be doing decent there.

It will depend on Flick.

If Flick tells ter Stegen straight up he will be the #2 then he should leave himself, for his own sake as well. If Flick tells him he need to compete
for the spot then I don't have an issue with him staying, but the club don't sign a GK like this just to bench him.

So even in a matter of a pre-season competition it is very likely Joan Garcia starts the season as the #1.

In that case ter Stegen need to stay professional and not complain, and not play the media game either. Something he has done before with Claudio Bravo, although Bravo himself was hardly a saint there.

We don't need these distractions mid-season. So if ter Stegen loses out the competition and is on the bench then he and his entourage/agent need to shut up and work in peace and if he then want to leave in January it can be considered.

Sure, he should stay professional, and so does the club.

But it's the club that used the media to kick out players since Laporta come back. It is something we need to learn that it will backfire.

Marc renewal, with deferred salary, was initiated by the board. He and his agent has the right to be pissed if he is told to get out. He could have been free agent now if they wanted.

If he wants to stay and compete, it is his right. And Flick has every right to handle the squad the way he sees it.

Being completely honest, how many have watched him this season outside of games vs us and Madrid?.

Because I personally have no eye test on him, which is why I've never gotten into how is should or shouldn't be rated.
