I won't get my hopes up but this is really a no brainer. The best young GK in the league, Catalan, affordable price but even if the interest is true (I doubt it) I think Deco/Laporta aren't capable to close it in time.

I would take Garcia over not signing anyone, but I am not buying the hype. He is above average GK with inflated basic numbers due to being relegation side. One season wonder, and he is overpriced at 25M for sure.
But I would take that over having Astralaga or Pena as backup in case Tek is leaving.

Joan Garcia should be the MVP of La Liga. Espanyol would have been 100% relegated without him. IIRC, they didn´t spend on the transfer market after promotion.
I am very certain Joan Garcia will never ever consider to join us this summer. Of 30 players who have played both of these clubs since 1988, none of them went directly from Espanyol to Barca. Some players go from Barca to Espanyol when they are viewed as deadwood (Martin Braithwaite).
Joan Garcia & his family will never gonna live in Barcelona peacefully if he does actually join us - to put it mildly.

Modern fans are pussies and Espanyol doesn't have that many fans in BCN. Barca's players can't walk around the city anyway.
The transfers between the clubs are rare but that is also irelevant. He has a clause, we don't have to negotiate with them.
The only problem is that he probably doesn't want to wait until September to find out if he can play for us or not and the club's obsesion with the Terrorist, he can't be sure he'll play even if he's much better than him.

It's sickening that when Barca win the CL it's because they were by far the best team and dominated everyone. Yet most of the time that Real Madrid win it they get outplayed in a lot of games and scab their way through.
It doesn't seem fair or right.

He's been on that level for this season only which is why the question of him being a one-year wonder is being asked.
Mamardashvili have had three seasons in La Liga where he has been very good.
Shit timing for us otherwise he would have been my clear choice this summer.
