Funny thing is that the only keeper who achied important things outside Barca that we had in the last couple of decades is Claudio Bravo with Chile NT.

I wonder how many years or even decades of opponent keepers winning man of the match in key battles vs Barca we will witness until we wake the fuck up...

Real Madrid are apparently considering signing him and loaning him out back to Espanyol for a year.

Courtois' contract runs out in 2026.

This was never gonna materialize. I'm fairly confident Deco gonna bring his compatriot Diego Costa in 2026. Another shortie keeper, this club loves them, innit.

Real want him because Lunin wants out, which is understandable.

Diogo Costa ain't happening either, it has been already reported that it us ruled out.

It will depends on Tek, he either stay and we won't go for a GK for the next couple of years, or leave and we will have to be serious.

Right now our targets are kind of mysterious. Only RB has been heavily linked to Barca, but every journalist came up with different name.

PS: Sommer has essentially knocked us out and he us 1.83 GK. Ease down on the height argument folks

Sommer works because he has a very dominant and physical backline protecting him. Bastoni, Acerbi, Bisseck are all giants. Likewise the shortie Raya who has the big Saliba, Gabriel or Kwior in front of him. Having both shortie keeper and CBs is always a recipe for disaster. Ain't no one gonna change my mind. Size matters!

Agreed. Most likely scenario is we continue with Tek and MATS next season.

We are not going to push out MATS. And if we wanted a new keeper, we shouldn't have offered Tek an extension.

We essentially knocked ourselves out of that tie. With better finishing Sommer can't do shit. Yamal shooting at far post(but not far enough) over and over again made him look better than he is.

Sommer in the 4-3 game has faced 3.97 post shot xG (this is essentially the quality of shots he faced on goal) and conceded 3 goals. That is actually amazing performance for a GK by numbers. And it actually showed our finishing wasn't bad.

I know you think every shot us easy and eye test belongs to the beholder, but numbers disagree with you, and eye test for most fans

Don't have time for the xG shite, that's Birdy's department. Let's just look at the three biggest saves he made in that match.

1. Eric Garcia should score a tap-in there, instead shoots at the middle of goal, in the direction of the GK. Good on Sommer to get back, but that's an easy goal for a forward
2. Yamal shoots from way out, GK has time to see the ball and get a hand on it. Routine save for a GK at that level
3. That's the most impressive but mostly because distance is smaller and shot is powerful. Sommer has to lunge fast in order to get to it, but he doesn't have to cover ground since ball is within reach. Anyway, this one was the best.

There are three more chances from Yamal - twice he shoots at Sommer and the one that hit the post. There is another big chance around min 107, when Sommer fucks up by coming out for the cross from corner and Lewa misses the header.

We can talk all day about eye test, truth is we made this guy look better than he was. So no, I'm not believing this theory that he knocked us out.

Ok so that pat on the back after the Lamine strike (or was it Ferran's?) was a kind of "see you next season" pat, or maybe I am just looking too much into it.
