Joan García

He's obviously sticking up for his mate.
This is turning into a transfer saga where each day is meant to be one day closer but nothing concrete actually happens.
Agreed, every day we will hear a headline like "JOAN GARCIA ONE STEP AWAY FROM SIGNING THE DEAL. Needs to visit his aunt in Sevilla first before making the trip to Camp Nou."

Sounds like Lewy doesn't rate Garcia that highly?

‼️ Lewandowski: "Joan García? If we’re talking about his season, it’s been good, he’s a very good goalkeeper. But I think he’s the kind of goalkeeper who, playing for a team that concedes 10 chances in a match, can save 8 or 9."

"At Barcelona, on the other hand, you might face one or two chances, and you have to stop them. It’s a topic I’d rather not speak about too much; I don’t have enough information."

Yesterdays news. What he is trying to say, in Scott Steiner math, is that for every 10 games, Joan Garcia will have 8 or 9 cleansheets.

I wanted to check how the HL package of Joan Garcia looks compared to Newcastle's pick James Trafford.

I think it is fair to say Joan Garcia looks a tier above.

Those penalty stops by Traffy are gorgeous though.

I wonder if they'll start calling him Old Trafford when he gets past 35.

The bar is in hell there.

Question is that is Garcia Barca level?

You need to be elite to be a starter for this superteam Flick is building.
Another question is are there any better options out there?

Other guys like Chevalier are not proven either, just like Joan. And there are no really top goalkeepers that we can sign right now. Only maybe Maignan who is turning 30 in a few weeks

30 is fine for a goalie

This has Flick's fingerprints all over it. For some reason I sense he didn't rate Terrorist at all and was looking for a way to drop him. The injury preempted that and Flick wanted a new keeper and picked Garcia.
I think he wanted a shot stopper similar to Neuer since he knows his style of football will always expose us at some point of the game.
Funny how it's all panning out. Most of us were resigned to the Terrorist dunking us next season.
At last the club has decided modernise. I always thought a keeper should be a great shot stopper first and foremost. At Barça though we had it backwards. They were more worried about the keeper being able to play out from the back.

That height though. Would have been nice if we were in for him.
