Jack Christian Rodwell (born 11 March 1991 in Southport, England) is an English footballer currently playing for Everton. Primarily a defensive midfielder, Rodwell has represented his country at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under 21 levels.

A very versatile player, who is equally good at playing both both CB & DM.
Scored a total of 4 goals for Everton till now, his first being one against Aston Villa and his first league goal against Man Utd. Only one thing to be said about this league goal... NEW STAR IS UNLEASHED

Apparently a Utd target, they believe him to be the perfect replacement for Paul Scholes. Widely considered to be the best English player to come from Merseyside after Wayne Rooney, Rodwell couldn't have possibly made it clear in a better way to Sir Alex Ferguson that he indeed is a talent not to be looked over. Left to see if David Moyes will be able to convince his star kid to stay this time. With an extraordinary young wealth at his disposal in Jose Baxter, James Vaughan, Dan Gosling, Fellaini, Victor Anichebe, etc along with the players hitting their prime in Arteta, Pienaar, Osman, Bilyaletdinov, etc retaining Rodwell could prove vital for Everton and they could improve into a team to be reckoned in Europe.

Promise young player, he plays at a high level in the middle... lets see how he develops. :) Could be a good surprise in the next few years. ;)

He is going to be one of the best midfielders of his generation. We would do well to pick him up now and get him to learn our way of playing, he would be perfect as our DM.

It's a lot more than that Adam, he has been turning heads for a while now. Young, athletic and very talented.

Visca el filòsof!
So will he be as good as Danny Cadamarteri, or David Bentley, or Kevin Davies? I assume you see where I'm going with this. We've seen countless players "burst onto the scene", if he's still around and impressing in a few years then I'll take him seriously but right now he's just EPL hype.

Not really, Theo has never really been lauded that highly. And the fact is he isn't even a footballer he is a roadrunner, whereas Rodwell actually has ability. The Everton academy is pretty good, I mean Rooney, Osman, Gosling, Rodwell, Hibbert, Anichebe and Vaughan is a fairly decent crop inside a few years compared to some PL teams- think who Liverpool have produced in that time.

I'm convinced if it wasn't for injuries James Vaughan would be a leading PL striker if it wasnt for injuries.

both academies in eastlands produce very excellent talent, known as the best in the country. Rodwell is a talented player, very dynamic and Everton are trying really hard to keep him by getting him to sigh the contract extension.

very overhyped english players, there's a player his age who has done much better and much more talented...Ramsey. But he's from Wales, so dont expect him to get any hype
