Need to specify what that means. Is top 3 in his position considered one of the best? Top 5? Even top 10?

For some positions there are at least 5 players who can be considered one of the best in the world. Positions like CM probably have 10 players who people can claim are one of the best.

Great post overall but I'd exclude Araujo at the moment.

He has been out for too long and his brainfart in the CL left a bitter taste in Barca fans' mouths. VVD, Konate, Saliba, Bastoni, etc are clearly better right now.

Players like Casado, Kounde, Araujo, Balde, Gavi have a chance in the future but they aren't truly world class yet. We need to wait and see if Raphinha is actually world class or just a one season wonder. He has never been close to world class before this season.

Only Raphinha can be considered top class. But it's a shortage of class players at most teams. That's why Spain walked the Euros so easily.

We have 5-6 that can reach that level, soome sooner, some later though.

I would say close to top class are Lamine, Pedri if he stays fit, possibly Araujo and Koude if they don't do dumb shit as often. Rest need more time.

Pedri close when he isn't gassed. We'll see about Araujo when he returns.

If you want to put Lewandowski there due to his goalscoring then I get it, but his performances around this stage of the season in all of his seasons here have dropped considerably.

Even if you put Lewa there, he's on his last legs and will drop off fast and soon. He is like washed up Suarez, can still put up top numbers but the overall game is declined compared to their best days.

I would change my opinion on Lewandowski as well but honestly don't see any impressive strikers in the world now that I would take ahead of him immediately. If we take whole season as a sample he still is the best. Statistics do give him a pass although he had some atrocious performances like this one vs Leganes.
