I'm reading he is going to Porto for 5m + a buyback option.
Bad deal, we all know this buyback option is going to be something ridiculous like 25m+
@jamrock
Buy backs for us are always terrible and that one is even worse, freaking 25m.
But probably teams the club sees Toni as the better prospect.
Good for him on a developmental level though, if he can break the first team.
It is already stated months ago he wants to leave for first team football. He won't go to 2nd division And tbh I am not sure he is even ready for Segunda.
This what happens when you rush a player in B team, he will be eager for first team football regardless of how ready he is.
Saying that, Porto? He isn't going to get ahead of Rodrigo Mora there.
I don't see it with Mora tbh, maybe I was unlucky wiith the games I watched, but I think Porto will cash on the hype either this summer or next.
Guille might also be developed into CM in 4231 too, which would allow him more playing time.
Porto is a selling club anyway, if they invest in Guille they will find him a plan to showcase his talent. This is always easier for teams like that.
I know you hated Nico deal, but for me it was massive win. I honestly could never imagine a scenario where we would have got that money for him. Or even scenario where a big club buys him so soon. (A bit too early, but City is already replacing him and he is likely in Pep's doghouse already).
If the club don't see it with Guille, and with the talents we have, Porto deal is good for everyone.
For me it's all about the leverage in the buyback. Real Madrid sell Nico Paz for 6m and retain an 8m buyback. We sell Guille for 5m and retain ???.
The Nico G deal was the same. We gave up too many clauses. Too many hands and cuts when dealing with Porto that go against the best interest of the club.
But let's see what this deal, if it goes ahead, ends up as.
