Wow, what a huge surprise that some people get bored with something they have literally lived their entire lives for.

I don't understand, how a footballer who trained every day for 30 years and played one thousand games in his life, isn't interested enough to keep watching more games after his retirement. We certainly need psychology experts to explain this phenomen to us.

Younger generations don't seem as invested in football as previous ones. They are way more into gaming or watching other content.

Span of attention of older ones is getting shorter as well and watching 90mins can feel dull.

And then you have blatant corruption in Spain favouring Real plus general ineptitude of their leaders where most clubs have to sell to lowly English clubs, scrape to sign anyone or register players.

Something will have to change.

This makes no sense. There are many people out there continuing with their craft even after retirement. There is no rule that you must hate something if you do it for 30 years. You'll find 80 year old Sushi masters in Japan, retired professors and doctors that still keep working, even footballers often continue as pundits or coaches, heavily involved in watching games. Xavi said he watches 3rd division games.

This guy is just a certified retard. "wHy WaTcH FUtBol wHeN THeRe iS tiKTOk". Everything about this guy always screamed retard. He wasn't concentrating more than 30 minutes as a player either so no surprise there.

Football is not boring if you watch the right games

Barça, PSG, United, Liverpool, Juventus, Inter...

Unrelated to Pique statement but a lot of people who only watch PL say football is now less exciting... no shit lol, in a league where 90℅ of goals are from set piece

It's boring in that if you go down the list of LaLiga games today they are all why the f*CK would I watch that games.

Player quality and team quality is at an all time low.

That's the issue here.

Ignoring streaming and gaming, the issue is that you are not just competing with that, but with the option of watching Italy, Germany's, England's showcase games, etc.

For example this weekend I watched PSG coz they lost, turned off Madrid to watch Lens coz the referee was fixed.

Today I looked down the list of LaLiga games and will go with Rangers vs Hearts over any of those.

When you are fighting for eyeballs if the games has no star players, no fair play, no entertainment quality then I'll go elsewhere.

For a casual fan the FA Cup games this weekend will probably be more entertaining than any of the tosh in LaLiga anyways.

EPL is far more entertaining than La Liga.

Most weeks La Liga is two poor teams with little pace/technical abiility/power facing off or Barca and Real scudding shit teams and at times getting dragged down by them.

Part of sport being entertaining is the level of players/coaches watching and what could happen next.

La Liga doesnt have that at all in comparison to EPL.

There will be folk who argue SPL in Scotland or games down park are more exciting if levels of players and teams dont matter but thats not reality in what folk want to watch.

Same folk here who moan about quality of EPL watch it...while La Liga is much more of irrelevance to folk outside Spain outwith the top two.

Fun fact. Most people are not going to games to enjoy the football. Most people are going to games to get social media content these days. Watch the crowd when somebody scores a goal. Everyone is on their phone recording.

Most teams, outside Barca, are horrendous to watch for 90 minutes. Imagine spending 5 to 6 hours travelling, often in terrible weather, to go to watch any EPL club or La Liga club outside of Barca. It's downright insanity and I don't know how people do it.

Scottish league has probably been most ENTERTAINING in Europe this season. Historic meltdown at Rangers with manager needing police protection. Then weeks later Celtic having historic meltdown with Wilf Nancy. All on the backdrop of Tony Bloom waving his magic wand at Hearts.

Low football quality, but genuine 3 way title fight, with plenty of drama and top teams going for it every game. The top teams don't park the bus like English teams, in Scotland.

Folk dont find shit teams in a bum fight exciting.

They want to watch the highest level of players and coaches even if the games can be cagey but for most part it isnt the case.

What is at stake matters and level of play for how much folk are engaged in much more than a narrartive around poorer leagues.

If someone comes up with some stat in May that the Conference League was best competition to watch as had more goals/less set pieces it wil be irrelevant. The CL with more quality, more at stake will always be more exciting to watch with less goals etc.

Not true at all. This is such a clueless take.

Many movie directors passionately love cinema even after they slow down. It's their life.

Same with many adventure sports people.

Same with many writers and authors.

Many Tennis players love Tennis so much that they are constantly involved in coaching and experts jobs and you can clearly see the passion.

Many actors work well into their 70s and 80s even after their bodies have given up and they have all the money in the world.

Absolute nonsense. Plenty of fans are dropping down to watching lower leagues, as they find the footballing experience more authentic.

Better, more passionate atmosphere with more engaged supporters not there just for social media content. Gung ho old school football not infiltrated by negative cowardly tactics. For me, if I had a choice to watch Gers Vs Celtic or City Vs Arsenal this season, I'm choosing Glasgow Derby in an instant.

Also, if you ask anyone they would take the Prem of Utd Arsenal days over this stale, commercial borefest. Lower quality back then but far far better entertainment, where shots on target were aplenty, whereas now, as a betting man I know, Premier teams struggle with them.

Nah you have no clue and I even predicted your shite SPL point before claimed it.

There could not be more fans in EPL stadiums.

As said.. if Conference League has more goals it still wont make it anywhere near as exciting or must watch as the CL with less or more set pieces.

'Gers'.

Yuk.

If you think there are not a whole bunch of football fans turning away from commercial EPL football to go and watch lower leagues to get a more authentic football experience, then you are just showing your lack of football knowledge. :spank:

In the same vein there are plenty of fight fans who enjoy two poor fighters beating the shit out of each other rather than a world title fight with 25 minutes of hugging and rolling around on the ground.

Pretty self explanatory.
