The left are blaming the right wing for Frances exit. The right are blaming the left wing for France's exit.

In reality they both sucked.

Reports Deschamps is going to announce soon that he is leaving the French NT after the 2026 World Cup.

Gotta be Zidane as his successor right? Imagine they hire Rudi Garcia :mou:

Imagine that bald fraud waiting for 5 years for this job and then not getting it, lol. Would be actually fun.

Reported for discrimination against bald people...

Ironically, many actually believed that previous FA president didn't want Zidane for discriminatory reasons, as they didn't want a coach who is from immigrants descendents, and it was one of the reasons Deschamps overstayed (beside being arguably France's greatest coach ever)

Yeah I was just joking, but there is a serious debate about that sort of thing in France.

I am not really a fan of Zidane as a coach but will be interesting if he gets the job.

They lack control in midfield and their CB are very mistake prone. They are contenders without doubt, but they are inferior to the teams they had in the last 2 World Cups.
England (hopefully not), Spain, Argentina & maybe Brazil are all within the same tier, Germany isn't far behind.

I think France's current midfield is a lot better than the one in 2022 (Kone brings a lot actual CM quality to the team), but lower in quality than that of 2018.
In terms of quality, I would go with 2018>2026 (?) > 2022

For Brazil, think they are way way down. I would pick Colombia, Uruguay and maybe Ecuador over Brazil with no hesitation.

2022 had Griezmann who knew how to slo pace and create with decisive passes, and Giroud who knew how to be a creator from CF, Griezmann was the team best player until the SF. They might not be midfielders, but they added to the midfield ability. National team football is very dependent on experience too, guys like Varane and Kante were important in that regard.

Brazil now looks a step behind, but they have the potential to explode at the right moment tbh

Griezmann and Giroud will be big misses, but it's more important to improve the midfield quality with actual CMs.

Maybe Brazil might explode at the right time, but can't see it with the lack of quality in midfield and full back.

Brazil are mediocre quality in defense and midfield. Regardless of Raphinha, Vini, Endrick or Rodrygo potentials. Far from a balanced squad, it's a long way ahead.

I believe Deschamps' squad peaked in 2022. The current squad seems like a slight rebuild. Despite that in the last 10 years you can't write off France as favorites due to the incredible amount of talent coming up.
