Norris also pays tribute to Oscar Piastri: “He’s newer to this than me but I’ve learned a lot from him. He was performing much better than me until the season break. I’ve really benefited from having him as a teammate – sadly, we’ve got plenty more seasons together!

“I went away and worked on myself, the little details – and look, I won by what, two points? I want to give congrats to Oscar and to Max, for making us stress like hell. Oscar has driven incredibly, and at some point he’s going to get the better of me.”

Norris acting like he 'got the better' of Piastri is hilarious, maybe he forgot they ordered Piastri to give his position in Monza and they ruined Piastri's race in Qatar to preserve his lead.

Glad for McLaren and Lando they won it, Max already has four titles and very likely he'll win more.

Lando became champion by consistency. In Alain Prost style (1986 and 1989). High-scoring finishes securing the title, but lesser Ws than Nigel Mansell and Aerton Senna respectively.

Max is the best driver, but Piastri should have been the champion. The team screwed him in Singapore IIRC where he lost momentum afterwards and crashed out in an era where only sugardaddy drivers crash. Remember Latifi, Hamilton would have been 12-time champion today.

Red Bull played mind games in the end using McLaren's great start of the season as an excuse. I don't buy it. Carlos Sainz said in a recent podcast that after Ferrari he wouldn't have accepted an offer from Red Bull, knowing that this is clearly Team Verstappen now. Poor Yuki, achieved his dream and got total crap for a car. This left the impression that Max is winning races driving a fucking tractor. Fact is Alpha Tauri/Racing Bulls cars were faster than Red Bull's second car most of the season. Clearly driver 2 was sacrificed for Max's benefit. Checo Perez got the same treatment last season.

Of course this is part of the sport. Ferrari did it with Michael Schumacher throughout his 10-year stint, Mercedes did it with Hamilton after the cinematic 2016 season with Nico Rosberg. All in all Max will never get a great teammate again at Red Bull.
It is clear that McLaren had favoured Norris across the season and intended for him to win. Qatar was a great example, one of the reasons they didn't pit during the safety car even though due to the race conditions it was objectively necessary, is because pitting both drivers would put Norris at a 5 second disadvantage (he had no chance to win the race anyway).

Piastri should leave, he was treated as the number 2 despite building a big lead.

Next season F1 will be almost like Formula E, some BS... They could have gone V10 and 100% bio fuel - why bother faking about with batteries if they still have V6 engines??? Makes 0 sense.

Michael won his first title with inferior car in Benetton team. Then also had inferior car with Ferrari as McLaren Renault's were superior.

Later on Ferrari had the strongest setup.

And to be clear I hated Schumacher back then and cheered for Damon Hill and Renaults.

Edit, it was Williams team.

Also later McLaren had the best car for few years. Not Ferrari.

That's actually typical statement for a F1 driver. Ego and arrogance at maximum. I knew this moment was coming for McLaren in the last couple of seasons. Lando was very likeable character previously, but Mr. Nice Guy is up to a certain moment. I commented on that in this thread earlier this year.

George Russel and Carlos Sainz went to congratulate him in a very warm fashion btw, unlike Max and Piastri. Being at top is a lonely place. Just look at how distant Max and Hamilton are from the rest of the drivers.

Williams won the championship in 1993 (Alain Prost) using electronic aid components. Then FIA banned them, but Benetton with that fraud Briatore in charge managed to conceal them for the 1994 season. Benetton's 1994 car was nowhere near "inferior". It was a cheat code and sadly pushed Ayrton Senna to his competitive maximum leading to his death at Imola 1994. Williams 1994 car was problematic and to this day I cannot unsee the medical helicopter and Adrian Newey crying. They knew:

The reason why I brought historical examples is not inferior cars, but inferior teammates. Schumacher was always no.1, Eddie Irvine and Barrichello were no.2.

In 2016 Rosberg retired for reasons unknown, most likely due to strained relations to Lewis Hamilton and me or him scenario at Mercedes. Then Valtteri Bottas was brought in to cause no trouble.
