Exequiel Palacios

Time to start my first thread. Catalan media reporting we are interested in Exequiel Palacios of La Plata (Vintage PES reference right there). River are looking to increase his BO to 30million euros which suggest that we could Yerry Mina/Arthur him currently at a good price. Never seen him so going to catch up on some of his games. Reports are he is a Winger converted to Box-to-Box midfielder (Di Maria?) so could be an De Jong alternative, or could just be an opportunity of the market.

he played for the Argentina NT in the Sept friendlies and he looked impressive. He couldn't make it to the Oct. friendlies as he was injured. I think he'll make it to the Copa America squad next summer.

Several reports saying he is joining Real Madrid in January

edit: his agent just said he got calls from inter but no real madrid

so is he any good?

Is Diaz' contract running out soon by any chance? Can recall some reports linking us to him (both him and Foden, in fact).

No front towards the South American Leagues who are proven in terms of talents, but almost always when I watch a comp of one of their midfielders they amass hundreds of through balls through acres of space like it's nothing, and then in Europe this NEVER happens at all. I feel like these comps are always making the players look like supercreative masterminds, but later it turns out that when the defences get dense they either get overconfident and repeatedly pass into the centerbacks, or they get intimated and sidepass till oblivion.

If a player was really actually able to play such through balls on a weekly base and repeatedly send strikers into 1v1 with keepers, then I'd personally drive that guy to Europe in a wheelbarrow.

Yeah. His highlight videos are not flattering. Mind you I have not seen his international games.

supposed to be one of the biggest talents in Argentina since Lautaro and every River Fan is full of praise, but Europe is different and many South Americans seem to struggle in Germany. If he can keep a good form, we might hear about him in the future.

Paulinho seemed to have disappeared since moving to Bayer Leverkusen.

At least people still remember his name. Leonardo Balerdi on the contrary is completely vanished, people basically forgot this transfer existed.

As a Boca fan I've seen him up close and personal and he has hurt us these last 2 years in the Copa but he is nothing special.

In fact there are no special players at Boca or River right now. The standard is so low and El Muneco Gallardo has done miracles taking the average River side to such heights.
