Denzel Dumfries

If you look at the game just from a stats perspective, yes Dumfries fried us. But not for a moment I thought our left side suck ass against Denzel. We all saw the game.

We wouldn't have this conversation without his two corner goals.

We'll, we don't have a rotation option on the right, genius. Let the two fight it out for the starting role.

😆 🤣 😂....for how much then?

Just by the side, his contract extension is being signed already which will make him that expensive.

You dont need to be a genius to realise it is an unwise suggestion to want to buy him at an exorbitant cost just for competition.
Haba!!!

Correct. I thought he was going to burn that left side to ashes. Aside from the first cross and the poorly defended set pieces that led to goals, I did not see anything else. A Martin more than held his own against him and Inigo pinned him down to a full time defender aftwr the switch.

2 goals
1 Assist

CL SF

If that's not cooking I don't know what is.

Funny how some of you dont see beyond stats in football. I could score 10 tap ins in a match without being dominant. Raphinha scored two spectacular goals against Benfica in the 2nd round yet every one saw Pedri was far more dominant in the middle of the park

Reading some comments here, you would think Dumfries tore barca several new holes on the left side today before realising he is just being over praised for a Pedri's cowardice and outjumping an Olmo in the box. Even Barella and Thruram have more praises than him on ForzaInter forum.

Yea but all that and still.

2 goals
1 Assist.

No Dumfries, inter lose today.

It's really that simple sometimes, no need to over analyze and be a hipster about every performance.

He was by far the most effective player on the field, coming back from an injury.

90% of goals come from a opposition mistake, was he not suppose to take advantage of it, do we deduct points for that, if he missed would everyone not be saying he's poor and blah blah, was he goals not taken well.

He and be alone cooked us from inter, point blank period.

Gibberish.
He scored and provided an assist. I have more than enough examples to show you that scoring multiple goals in a match does not equate to you being on "fire" as it is being made out to be here. You would think he was even more prominent or more dangerous than Yamal they way some of you have been pouting his contributions. Low standards!!!

He scored but was not the most potent threat for Inter today. For Martin to be so comfortable all 1st half and good part of second half.....he did not do as much as some of you are crying of here.

Dumfries had his Lilian Thuram World Cup 98 moment.

Next game he is back to brainfarts, running off the pitch and conceding penalty and getting sent off.

Normal service resumed and balance brought back to the universe.

Set piece goals aside. Nothing else to suggest he was owning the right wing. Yamal had more impact in setting the tone of the game. Check all the headlines this morning, its all about the teenager. Yet Yamal was not voted MVP but the whole world saw who wasn on "fire"

Nigga please... I was talking from a sporting perspective, I'm not in tune with his contract situation and such. So no need to act like an imbecile.

Bro, there is no need to be insultive on this. It is not necessary.

Happy that you have now learnt more about his contract situation have a different view after that. Thats the positive, for me.

If he wasn't the most potent inter attacker who was? Lol.

He cooked out, period.

😆 🤣....Dumfries is not an attacker, bro.

I can give you tons of examples of scoring defenders. That doesn't make them attackers.

On the inter milan forum, many are shocked he had all the freedom against Barca to score those goals as they consider him a turd against other capable full back. Our own Martin stood toe to toe with him and Inigo pinned him down.

He got the goals which I do not contest. Did he "burn" Barca's left wing? A big NO!!

Watched the game again and he was getting a lot of room down the right unmarked when Inter broke.

There was countless times in 2nd half where Inter broke and looked to work ball wide and Dumfries was completely on his own.

Raphinha in some cases was in the middle or in other cases nowhere to be seen as Inter broke.

It left situations where a far too narrow Barca back four who had tried to play high and offside were left with Inigo having to get out and close him down and Inter attacked the space in and around Inigo with runners as he came out to Dumfries.

Not that it is Raphinhas fault as he works hard and is expected to come central but it left a hell of a lot of room for Dumfries to get ball wide and them to get runners off Inigo.

Inter had that many men deep they didnt really ask Dumfries to follow Raphinha into box when he drifted centrally and it left a hell of a lot of room for Inter after 1 or 2 passes to be facing up to Inigo.

Hopefully less of an issue if Balde is fit as it with the width and attacking Balde provides he would be more positioned out wide and in theory closer to Dumfries when it breaks down..while having pace to get back with him. No need for Inigo at LCB to be drawn out then and can hold position.

Still think the defence was far too narrow and high which alllowed Inter to work it wide and across.. but dont think Flick is going to change that.

Balde LB and FDJ positioned bit more to left as was under Xavi to cover him possibly could slow them down but Flick gambles all on Barcas way and probably wont use FDJ like that.
