Just saw there are reports that said that, others say it was in the original contract (his renewal was just exercising the + year clause early on, but maybe new clauses were added).
Maybe it was Deco, but this feels like the type of shenanigans that Alemany used to pull.

We have been hearing about a CB sale since early July, they clearly wanted someone out and Inigo solved the issue for them.
The club should have sorted their shit before telling the SD to go and negotiate with expensive players.
