He was, but he had plenty of stinkers himself. Team lost many games in a bad manner with him and doing more stupid things than good ones.

Not nearly as many as some make out but all players have off games.

Constistenly had more good games than anyone else also.

With Araujo starting suddenly I'm not so confident as I was

We will be heavily dominant in possesion here and if they want to get the ball there is a clear obvious guy to target

You can have an off game and still be decent. Or you can have off games where you are absolutely terrible. The latter are hard to forgive in CL.

'Hard to forgive'.

The best players ever had a ton of poor big games.

It happens.

How many good ones they have is what sets them apart.

Sure, there's always next season. But pressure gets higher with more bad performances you have in big games. CL knockout games are where it's at. Worst time to produce stinkers.

Talking in cliches that mean nothing.

No one finds poor games 'unforgivable' for the top top players. Yamal has and will.. fitness permitting have plenty.

This is not about only Yamal. Raphinha also with his Ballon d'Or talk. Put up or shut up. You think you're good enough to win BD? Go out there and show Newcastle you're better than them.

OK, you had a poorer game. Then show it in the return leg.

Dont agree.

It is not unforgiveable if Raph plays poorly or his CL form to date.

Can make him look a bit daft if speaks too much then doesnt back it up around the same time but it happens and players can soon make folk forget and bounce back.

Unforgivable for a player who thinks he is BD material to produce stinkers vs a mid table EPL side. It's only in the context of the expectations these players set up for themselves.

Not at all.

Just makes him look like runs mouth off.. but will have other games to prove himself if not tonight.

In CL? Doubt it. It's gone if you don't show up. One disasterclass is often enough.

Zidane produced two stinkers at the wrong time instead of match winning magic, he'd be remembered as half the player.

More opportunities in big games going forward.. no player plays well in all games.

Also matters big games had in past to how looked upon. Not just the last game.

Some folk are just too reactionary but time wont look back on Raph if poor tonight as something that could never be forgiven. Not even close.

Same with Pedri, Yamal any of them.
