Raphinha is judged in goals. If he doesn't score and doesn't provide key passes that lead to goals the magic is gone. Pressing is fine, but he wasn't one of the best last season because he just put a lot of effort.

I can understand a player like Raphinha struggling if someone parks the bus. But if an opponent engages in end to end battle vs us this is his ideal scenario. And he has to deliver.

And if they park the bus, we take a 0-0 or 1-1 and move it to Camp Nou. This should be the blueprint.

A lot is given up to give a player as free a role as that and worth it if they perform.

Yamal does a lot defensively.. by far more tackles/interceptions than Raph this season and more than any other attacking player.

Yes his pressing is irrelevant at times. Chases lost causes and folk clap.

Doesnt mean it all is. He still presses well a lot also but chasing lost causes to point he looks fucked and can do little on ball isnt worth it.

Raphinha will always lose in comparisons to Yamal no matter how much he runs.

Poor choice to bring up Yamal.

It is his role to make runs in the box and not be positionally anchored on the flank. He plays with attacking fb behind him (who occupies that far left side) as opposed to right side. Failure to comprehend these basic concepts and attribute it to Raphinha having a "free role" is hilarious.

Nah he is given a lot of freedom from the left.

By far attacker given most freedom and plays more or less as a second striker at times.

Will never be as good as Yamal.

Raphi gets a ton of room to run into as teams know Yamal is the threat and cover of his side more.

Raphinha was bad after he came off injury. I don't know why it is hard to admit this. He was bad, and he needs to improve. Lamine was shite vs Girona, shite vs AM in the first leg, and he bounced back fast.

He was, but he had plenty of stinkers himself. Team lost many games in a bad manner with him and doing more stupid things than good ones.
