This was genuinely more defensive than Simeone teams.

How are Real Madrid fans fine with this?

Real Madrid fans stopped having a problem with such shitshows since Moutinho took over.
Until then, they had some integrity in them regarding the football they play. They even sacked LL winning coaches like Capello because of the football

Mourinho changed their DNA, and they sucked it up in exchange for titles
That's why the cunt club will NEVER EVER be like Barcelona...

Mourinho's Madrid was fun to watch though and much more offensive than this. They used to score many goals consistently.

Their counter attacks were insane.

Yep, on the counter

That's total opposite to the historic way of playing football at Madrid.
You prob remember the Galacticos who were never parking any bus, but even before that, going all the way back to the Di Stefanos and the Puskacs team

The fact that their fanbase simply swallowed that HUGE change in philosophy just like that,
in exchange for dethroning the great Barca of Pep
tells you everything you need to know about their spineless nature

Most Madrid fans are the definition of gloryhunters. That's the only thing they truly love about their club. They are indeed Los Plasticos.

The Galacticos were pretty offensive but not very well coached iirc. It was a free-flowing Harry Redknapp esque system from what I remember. More about vibes than intricate offensive play or any form of micro-management. In a very "lads go out there and express yourselves" manner, they weren't tactically sophisticated.

My point is that yesterday's style of play was unbelievably dogshite and Mourinho's low block counter attacking system at Real was far more fun to watch than yesterday's pile of crap. Yesterday they genuinely played more defensive than Big Sam's Bolton(underrated team btw).

In my personal opinion, Klopp and Wenger's style of play is far more entertaining than the typical Barca or Pep's style. The style Spain NT used in the 2010 WC was horrendous to watch. So boring when they were using ball possession as a defensive mechanism. Gimme Klopp's fast, vertical, counterpressing system anyday.

The 3 managers with the most entertaining and fun style of play:

Klopp(Dortmund, Liverpool)
Wenger(Arsenal)
Bielsa(Leeds).

PS: The streets will never forget Peak Sarriball at Napoli.

Barca DNA™ puritans are such clowns. There is nothing pure about modern football and arguing over the way a team is supposed to win is just ridiculous.

Carlo is Italian lol. That was a pretty classic Italian style defensive performance from Carlo.

It was organized and well-drilled into the players what the game plan and Real pulled it off.

It's not like Real are a defensive team either, they are usually the exact opposite of that but they adapted this strategy in this game to allow them to win and progress.

That's what world class managers do.

You will never see that from clown managers like Xavi, Koeman, Setien etc...The type of managers that Barca hired these days.

This aint squad with prime Modrić and Kroos, while having 40+ goal machine upfront and Benzy as support. Its squad in development, with young players lacking a little bit maturity, while also being a few transfers from greatness ( Mbappe ). Despite that, club has managed another semi final, which is absolutely insane.

As such, Carlo did tactical near perfection yday.

Madrid have been state funded far far longer than City have. City don't have a fanatical City supporter as the head of their league, doing their bidding to destroy their competition with draconian rules during the greatest pandemic of our lifetime.

90 percent of the refs in their league don't support City. Some of those 90 percent don't have family members who started City supporters clubs.

City don't have fanatical fans in the arbitration committee who reduce suspensions for leg breaking tackles whilst confirming suspensions of their competitors for the slightest infraction.

City don't have close ties to UEFA which began when they started the European Cup and got to choose their opponent and referees who would officiate their games.

City didn't fail a drugs test in a UCL final with Liverpool and have that covered up and filed away by their friends in UEFA.

Supporting Madrid over City on morality grounds gave me a chuckle I must admit.

So in your world these alleged and highly conspiratorial theories about Madrid's influence in UEFA make them more morally objectionable than the tyrannical medieval state built by slave labor that violated every financial rule under the sun to fund a sportswashing project?

This has to be one of the dumbest things I've read here in a while.
