I actually reckon that the Jan window is our and his LAST chance of getting him here .
Pedro was a good squad player but he wasn't prepared to pay second fiddle to MSN and wouldn't sign a new contract.
He shouldn't be difficult to replace because he doesn't offer that much. Instead we get Arda Turan and Paco Alcacer who've offered nothing.
Pedro did a job good for Barca but he played in a perfect team for a few seasons. When the team declined he had little left to offer. The signings of Suarez and Neymar boosted the attack massively and for a time covered the failings of the midfield.

Pedro did sign a new contract then left. Probably on understanding could leave for a certain fee.
He was a great player when team was built on midfield and Messi as he provided a lot of the dirty work but without that midfield and Messi false nine need better than him on the ball.
Although would get into team now.

possible, but probably now is less sure than the last years, when we were always the best team for all...
it will depends on a lot of things and circumstances during the season (shape of players, motivations, injuries, luck)...
i don't know...we will understand soon.
p.s. sure roberto in the line up and rakitic on the bench?

Here's some perspective:
- PSG paid for Marquinhos exctly the same amount of money we paid for Mathieu + Vermaleen
- Mathieu + Vermaleen costed 6 million euros less than PSG paid for Thiago Silva
- Mathieu + Vermaleen costed 2 million less than Bayern paid for hummels
- Mathieu + Vermaleen costed more than Real Madrid paid for Isco or Modric
- Dybala signed for Juventus for the same amount of money we paid for Mathieu + Vermaleen
But wait, it gets better!
- Kroos was just 7 million more expensive than Mathieu
- Mathieu costed MORE than what Borussia paid for Dembele last year
- Mathieu costed us more than twice what we got for Bartra
- Mathieu costed mere 5 million less than what we got when Thiago went to Bayer
How was signing Mathieu not shit again?

None of that is relevant. Awful argument.
Mathieu served his role as a squad player.
Picking and choosing values doesnt mean anything.
Here is more persective. Man City paid 42m for Mangala.

Mangala's 26. He still has 5-6 years ahead of him to change things up and actually live up to that price tag. Where's Mathieu now? Oh yeah, that's right, he left for free 3 YEARS after we signed him, great Squad player!

He is an absolute waste of money that they have got nothing from.
Mathieu did his job as a squad player.
It's similar to last season only with Dembele for Neymar which is a downgrade. Semedo can improve us at right back. The players around 30 are all a year older as well.
The team last season simply weren't good enough and it took Messi at his best to have Barca anywhere near contenders, or Neymar with a great showing against PSG who annihilated us in Paris.
The midfield doesn't cut it. Take Messi out the side who has to drop back to create loads of chances for Suarez or whoever and it's completely powder puff.
We'll be found out in Europe as soon as we face a good side (I expect Juventus will win the CL group and we'll go out last 16 unless we get a good tie which we never do). We'll be on the coat tails of Real but they're heavy favourites for the league and will probably win CL.

Good squad player? His best season with us was average at best. Lucas Vazquez, Rafinha, Varane, Sergi roberto. Those are good squad players. Mathieu was a waste of money.

Semedo could develop into a good-enough RB. We had no one with that potential at this position last year.
Having both S. Roberto and Paulinho available in midfield is a big step up from the available list last year. True, Iniesta, Busquets and Rak are a year older.
Deulo is depth at forward that was not available last year. Big improvement.
Replacing Neymar: So glad Dembele is here. I hope he develops in half the player as Neymar, that would be a lot. Losing Neymar is huge for the attack and defense. No matter how good Dembele gets, this team is crippled w/o Neymar. Recovering from that loss is quite uncertain, we shall see.
