9 - Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski gets criticized when he's scoring and not scoring so he's damned if he do and damned if he don't.

If Neymar does 10 dribbles and loses the game, he's world class.

If Lewandowski does 0 dribbles and wins the game, he's just a bum.

Only forum where a player gets brickbats for scoring the winner because of personal failures and frustrations of some poor users. Hilarious yet pitiful at the same time.

Well people have high expectations.

A player like Lewy should score the 1v1, a player like Lewy should be able to control balls, not destroy attacks.

He scored a simple tap in without much of an effort in the end. Good. But he isn't some B team player who is only expected to score open net goals. He's supposed to increase the level of the team and at the moment he's not doing that.

Even Luis Suarez got shit on when all he did was score easy goals and fuck up attacks (...and shout at team mates  )

So no suprise fans don't go easy on Lewandowski, a player who didn't do nearly as much for the club.

His first season was good overall, but since WC his level dropped and so far the summer break didn't help him get back to form.

Normally wouldn't matter that much because that's whats expected from a player at 35, but club is broke as fuck so every big investment is super important.

He was meh and scored a open goal from a rebound.

Not really something to celebrate.
Give it some time. The season has just started. You don't even know the CL group. You want your star player to peak at the right time of the season. You gotta persist and play him back into his form.

You'll say "Why this special treatment for him?" - because of his career and coz the Barca staff knows what he's capable of. He has credit in the bank. Everyone knows that a fit and firing Lewy will score for fun.

Also, let the system gel and flow. Barca haven't created much so far. The current system with 4 mids is uninspiring. Gavi as LW won't cut it.

Once Cancelo comes he'll get better service from wings and the team will have better mobility and pace.

Balde is a very good ball carrier but his crossing and end product is amateur level.

You cannot treat Lewandowski like you'll treat other ordinary players who haven't done shit in their careers. Be patient.

Credit in the bank

That would apply more if he was 29 and in a rough string of games...when he's 35 going on 36, credit in the bank becomes obsolete

Otherwise, by that logic, the GOAT, whose career achievements are x 10 that of Lewa, would have credit in the bank till he's 50

Lewandowski: "We are Barça and we are expected to not only win, but to play good attacking football. Lately that hasn't been what it should be, so we've been struggling to create more chances in the games.... When we see Ferran or Ansu come on, two players who go forward, we create more chances."

So he's already a better manager than Xavi.
