His main issue is his ball carrying ability which is nonexistent, and we rely heavily on fullbacks to do it, at least with some progressive passes.

He isn't awful for a backup in either defensive end, or at the attacking one third, but in the build up he is absolutely shit.

If we get a proper Left winger as a sub, he can be useful

His defending is average, but is attacking is awful.

So with raphinha who will cut inside, he kills the left side of the attack.

I gotta disagree there man.
He is a quite poor defender against players that willingly take him on. Not the most physical player either even though we were led to believe otherwise.

The club need to find a better backup than him.

I actually think he is very physical albeit stiff. We absolutely need a better backup, no argument here.

His lack of right foot for anything is a big problem. Has to prepare his body just to simply square a ball sometimes.

He does have his positive attributes though, decent delivery of the ball and seems a likeable lad.

He did score in the Supercopa tbf. I thought Balde was going to do a repeat of his run when he blazed past three Real Madrid players from the edge of our own box just a few minutes after coming in, but he played the ball to Raphinha instead.

This is dumb. Balde in the first action of this game did more than Martin the whole game. That run was magic from Balde.

Martin takes way too much time deciding what he will do. Way too slow decision making.
