10 - Lamine Yamal

I really really struggle with this guy.
Immensely talented and clearly one of our best exports from La Masia for a while but my perception of him is self-indulgence.

I genuinely believe he's a big question mark over the next 5 years; he has too many bad habits already and someone needs to sit him down at the club.

The fat lying glutton maybe? :laporta2:

Remember his quote after midget fiesta? "I only regret not being at Lamine's party".

Then he has the WC to wipe that away.

Few chances.

The biggest flop at Barca in CL this season has been Raphinha.

The biggest flop this season in CL will be whoever out of Raphinha and Yamal will not deliver in the knockout phase. Goals, key assists, end product comes first.

They are two top 5 players of last season and they are expected to mark the difference again. If it's Raphinha, sure, you seem to be under the impression that I hold Raphinha to this insane standard. I value his work ethic, and his leadership, his fighting spirit, but a great player he is not.

People think Yamal is having a bad year because they expect him to become Leo Messi and thats facts.

He is way better than last year. Infinitely better. You just don't notice because the guy is being hard focused because teams aren't scared of anybody out there lately.

No pedri
No raphinha
Bench player Lewa
Ferran misses 20 chances a game
Barca's whole defense is ass so they know a free goal will happen no matter what.

Sure, but under big pressure this time. He's no longer the kid sensation that took over everyone by surprise at the Euro, he's Spain's leader in offense and their no10.

Lets see if Raph can finish season without being Barcas biggest flop in the CL of the attacking players.

Lets see what Raph can lead Brazil to.

Yeah having to play 1v3 and also RB for Kounde is a bad habit
He needs to adapt his game then.

Every top player gets marked crazy after a breakout season - He spends too much time just waiting wide right. He needs to come in-field more often, make runs in behind etc. It's too easy to mark him.

I grant you Kounde is a hot mess however.

The credit I give to DonAK argument regarding Lamine Yamal is that he seems to be more disciplined at Spain NT under De la Fuente. So it may be an issue with our management and our squad.

I may be mistaken, but I see a more structured and tactically disciplined Lamine when he plays with Spain.

He is disciplined for Barca.

Works hard off the ball. Quite clearly sticks wide in way Flick is asking and plays for the team.

I agree he should move in. Hell maybe even play him at the 10 and see what happens. He might be told to stay wide who knows. But yeah i'm stuck on our full backs right now as major major culprits for everything.

Kounde and Balde vs Alves and Alba type wingbacks. Obviously both of Alves and Alba were top tier offensively but they helped the wingers out so much
