No one serious expects him to give it up. Going out on a loan while Barca covers a good chunk of his wages is an option too.

And it's not an end of the world with so much money going around in Arabia, US, China whatever. He can play in much lower intensity than required here and still make a living.

It's obvious he doesn't care about playing anymore. He'll stay here and colect his money and then retire or go leech somewhere else like MLS, SA for a few years. And he even doesn't get 1% of the hate that FDJ get because he's a cute La Masia child.

He should go to whatever team offers him the most money.

His career at the top level seem to be over, and what's the point struggling a middling or relegation side.
