He benefited from Spain's best midfielder,who for some reason started on the bench,coming on in the last 30 minutes.
The kid is good & will be great, but this isn't barca where our midfield is trash, so he has to start, Spain has much better options in midfield to start games.

First 70 odd mins look like played with breaks on to try and get into positions between opposition to try and link up and free Alba.

His first half is really mediocre. Better in the second half.

The thing is.....while he need to take more risks with his forward passing he need someone to make those runs too. Spain usually don't do that and neither do Barca.
IMO he might also benefit more being first sub rather than a starter for both teams in an ideal situation.

To be fair people get giddy about anything at International tournaments. He was Spains best player last 20 mins or so though to me.

Did Morata, Ferran or Rodri show more than him? Olmo was ok and Koke probably the best in 1st half but his level also dropped in 2nd half.
Thiago shouldn't be playing as DM, busquets yes because rodri is kinda ass.

Maybe but in the first half it almost feel like he doesn't want to pass it into penalty era. He changes it in the last 20 mins. I think it maybe his mindset.
