Pique may be about the worst 'leader' have ever seen at Barca.

Under EV took the piss and refused to train and travelled for business when suited him.

During games he plays with chip on shoulder and a knowing smirk on his face as if referee is out to get Barca. Does that before organising the defence for set pieces/positionally a lot of the time. Constantly distracted and playing the victim card which wears thin.

Screams at players and more or less calls them out as playing shite when he is just as bad. Passing the buck and taking no responsibility.

His time is long done and hope his knee injury brings an end to it this summer but dont think his ego will allow for that.

Couldn't agree more

Bit off-topic, but have seen somewhere a screenshot of Barca's line-up in 14/15 UCL final recently. Mascherano was one of the most underrated players in a team stacked up with top players and big names.

Absolutely. You only notice how important players like Masche are until they're long gone and you wonder why our team has no spine

Don't think he has been that underrated.
I think most are aware that Argentina being anywhere near World Cup final is because of him holding that CB/DM position. Tournament's best player without much discussion.

Absolutely. They gave the trophy to Messi but it was Masche who was the best player, no doubt.

He was DM and he was one of their weakest links on ball.
Argentina would not lose the final if he could pass the ball forward a luttle bit.
Great defensive DM, but can't do shit otherwise in midfield

Don't see how that adds or takes away from the point that he was the absolute MVP without whom the team would be dust?

I think Pique is using his "active Barcelona player" card to leverage his business dealings- and vice versa. I expect him to try and command a starting spot in this team for as long as possible.

It is the fact that he wasn't, not even their most important defender and no way better than Messi.

He was their most important defensive player.
IMO

More important to their success than Messi who, as anywhere else, is a chance creator, but offense isn't something that team was really ever devoid of.

Messi was Argentina's most important and best player in that tournament. People have been saying Di Maria, Mascherano and Romero were better for years to try to make it seem like Messi was bad. He wasn't at his best, but still led Argentina in nearly every key statistic from goals scored to key passes or chances created.

Overall it was a great group effort. Sabella managed to turn his team from being all out attack in the qualifiers to defensively rock solid in the WC.

Their most important player was Higuain. Without him they would have won the World Cup.

This.

Sabella was an underrated manager. They should've kept him.

Sabella was an underrated manager. They should've kept him.

They tried, but he wanted to leave to retire.

The manager they should have retained was Tata Martino, but AFA had not paid him like 8-10 months worth of salary.

Say what you want about Tata at Barca, but he was a good NT Coach for Argentina.
