They were lions when it mattered. Incredible mental fortitude to beat reigning world champions and such a historically talented French team.

Insane achievement, mentality beats talent (unless you have both like Messi :lol: )

Their squad was always pretty good. Not elite like France, Brazil, England, Portugal. But at least europa league players on the bench with best of europa league and champions league level players in the starting eleven.

2014 midfield was trash. Masche who was a better CB than CDM at that point, likes of Biglia, Gago and Enzo Perez lol. Argentina's better midfield in Enzo F. and Mac Allister allowed them to control the game today, at least until the 70th-80th minutes. Paredes, De Paul also better options than what they had in 2014

While Scaloni need to improve his in-game management and subs, the call to play Di Maria and play him on the LW insetad of the RW where he's usually played under him was a genius move.

Everyone expected Argentina to target Hernandez and his side which they also did, but they went all-in on Kounde's side too.
