South American qualifiers are a real meat grinder. I always wonder if we would have won more CL's if Messi, Neymar and Suarez were European.

Think it was a factor, especially in the 2015-2016 season imo.

Argentina's biggest strength seems to be the tightness of the group.

I think the absolute personal priority for all of those players is the World Cup, no matter what club they play for. We saw that with the PL players and how they were willing to sacrifice club football for Argentina.
Messi probably couldn't care less about winning Ligue 1.
